Dallas vs. Houston
Greetings all,
I'll be in Dallas this weekend supporting my wife and her team the Houston Energy as they take on their WPFL and Texas state rivals the Dallas Diamonds.
Your probably saying WTF, well both teams belong to the WPFL, the Women's Professional Football League. The league has been around since 99 and Texas has produced 6 of the 7 championship teams with Dallas 3-peating the last three years and Houston 3-peating the first three years.
The WPFL plays full contact, full pads NFL rules ball. The only difference is they play with a collegiate style ball rather than the full size NFL ball. These girls play all over the US from California to New England. So I invite you to come out and see the game and lend your support to this growing sport. Game tickets are only 10 dollars and can be purchased in advance or onsite at the stadium. The team is playing at Pennington Field in Bedford, TX.
There are some videos out on YouTube and on the team websites if you want to see them in action. Most games bring out a few thousand people and are a lot of fun.
PS > They also got cheerleaders too... (females, that is)
