I've seen a few other posts about starting an "official" meet for NTXRotary. While I think it's a great idea (especially Joe's having one official a month and then random ones whenever), I just want to let everyone know what to expect, especially the new folks.
Our meets are pretty chill and relaxed and very little time is actually spent standing and looking and talking about the cars. We often show up around 8:00 PM, wait a few minutes and then head inside (or the patio in the summer) and sit and have a few beers, dinner, and just shoot the ****. There's some talk about the cars here and there, but it's often spent making fun of the kid or listening to Thomas bitch about something or some other random topic. Then by 10, we all realize we have work in the morning and head out.
While I've never been to any of the weekly Mazda meets or the one over here in Plano, I get the impression they are more like car shows than anything else. That's fine and for those who enjoy that atmosphere, I say keep it up. But that's not how our meets typically our.
So please, come and join us and enjoy the friends (we'll probably even let you make fun of the kid), but don't expect a car show atmosphere. It's just not how we are.

Hi all, I am in NE Fort Worth with an 09 m/t GT. Over in Grapevine on a regular basis. Sounds like a neat way to meet some new folks. I'll have to check the schedule and see what's going on. Out of curiosity, what is the average age of the folks that show up?

Ages of the regulars range from 17 to 39... But I'd say the majority are mid to late 20's.
