Question DFW 8's

Hey i was just gonna open up this thread to see whose all around DFW. If you dont care for helping just say hey, as id like to meet/talk to my fellow 8's out there in the area :D

And also for a few questions to guys that live around here incase i need help, since i am 16 and all , at anyrate i posted in a different thread that the previous driver of my 8

know how to drive at all and hit a curb a couple of times. i was wondering if by looking at

these pictures anyone could tell me if i could still install the front lip to hide the damage. To be honest i dont know how to install the front lip so if i could install the front lip without completely buying a new bottom piece that would be great and this is why im asking yall since yall live around here and might be able to help fix/ repair the damage with me. ill post the pics and hopefully wont get bashed for reposting them , o and btw in one of the pictures my inner right fender well has been torn out, i assume that piece is called a mudguard (Picture 3 )???

P.S. the black plastic piece im really confused about is in the First and second picture, as idk if i can still install the front lip with it broken off, G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY has told me that that part is called the "Front Spoiler" Part number 20, according to http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0

you could put the front lip on but it will take some creative engineering to secure it (and by creative engineering I mean zip ties might be your best friend here). the front spoiler acts as an attachment point for the appearance package as well as adding support for it and the splash guard. the only thing that i would be concerned about is long term durability and if the lip will even cover that damage.

good luck with it!

heyyy thanks lol, yikes so tommorow at flips ehh... i might be able to go... but keep in mind damn exams start on wensday so >_<... if im there great :D, if not hopefully sometime soon.

As987 said, zip ties... hmm.... doesnt sounds too sturdy, considering the website http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0 id be able to get a new one and attach it correct? i do remember some of the actually bumper being torn off though so if im at Flips i cant wait to ask questions, thanks again

the lip would probably not cover up the damage. i think it would cover most of it and you could get some touch up paint to minimize the appearance of it. and as scott said zip ties will be your best friend.

also if you need help installing it im up for anything that involves workin on an 8

Hey I would try to buff out the scratches with Clay bar and/or some scratch remover and see what is left. You might luck out, and not be that noticeable. If it was me, I would go with a new Mazdaspeed or Veilside front instead of just a lip.

Nice man thanks, so glad you live around me, ill PM you soon when id like you to take a look at my front bumper and if im going to install my new shocks and springs by myself... im considering to get someone to do it since i dont know how and id like to watch them do it correctly heh... after about 2 weeks then get a alignment to make sure my tires are wearing properly etc...

Back on topic... ill post new pics either later on tonight or tomorrow but i would REALLY, REALLY like to avoid zip ties as i wouldnt think they would be sturdy enough etc...
