LOL, yes I was aware beforehand that those would be mispelled. At this point this is just a "draft" site and in no way would be shown to anyone but you guys. I basically need to write all the articles in word before hand, or have someone else do write ups afterwords. For now its just so everyone can get a feel for the layout.

Wow...looks like I was late to this party.
I'm hesitant to put a background on a logo. We can do that on the website as a header...but for the logo, backgrounds make things complicated. But I understand what you're saying and we can probably work it in somehow. Maybe something like this site: http://wisergirls.org/ You can see the logo at the top, but it has an interesting background. The background adds to the site, but it's not actually part of the logo.
TOUGH ****!! You get what we give you! Just kidding.
Right now, we are working on just a logo for the website, but I think we need to consider something for the cars too. I think using the same logo for the cars and the website would probably be a good idea...more continuity.
The idea behind the original logo was to add some Texas influence (that's the font the Rangers use on their uniform, which I'm sure automatically makes Steve hate it!) but not too over the top. This was just something I threw together in a few minutes, so feel free to make suggestions.
Here's one I've seen that I like:
You can tell they're from Canada, but it's not over the top. I'm not a fan of the shading on the letters, but the size and weight of the font and the maple leaf/rotor logo is pretty cool.
If anyone wants to work on a logo idea, here's a couple of things you might want to take into consideration. Not rules that HAVE to be followed, but more people will like your idea if you can follow these. They just make it more "universal".
^^^ Thomas are these for our cars? I want mine in Blue, It'll match my car color... if the stickers can be possibly color matched (or close). A new font imo should be selected (no harsh feelings) Im not feeling the cursive or the rotary pic in there... something that just says NTXROTARY idk, ill play around with Word and see what fonts look cool...
Assuming this is for a car sticker...

- Make sure the logo looks good both really big (on a car) and also really small (on a business card). This is for consistency purposes. Having a bunch of different logos floating around for different purposes just causes problems.
- Make sure the logo will look good in a single color. While it can be multiple colors on the website, odds are it'll be a single color decal for the cars. You'll want to make sure whatever you design can work in both instances.
- Make sure it's distinct and doesn't copy anyone else (including SARX) This is pretty self explanatory, but don't copy other people. We want this to be original and represent the DFW (North Texas -> NTX) area.

I'm not sure when the next meet will be, mainly because we just came back from a huge Statewide event last weekend and we are currently just recouping from that. If you'd like more information about that particular event I would suggest checking out our website (www.thetexas8.com) and the threads we have in the rotary events section under Texas8

i do think a lot of this is unnecessary. the more we try to expand and make our group larger, honestly the more i think we'll lose the tightness of our group. i'm not saying that we shouldnt include. far from it. but the more and more we try to formalize things the less and less personal things become.

Like I said earlier, the NTX site is really to give us a face, and give the group a unifying name, much like SARX. I dont think SARX has a site, but I'm doing the building out etc, so why not? It is not my intention to replace the the rx8club. The site is merely to supplement what we already have. NTX will NOT have a forum and I dont plan on it being a primary method of communication for any of our meets, though that information will be posted there as well.
At this point it is merely a repository for our past meets, a nice easy way to get pictures/videos/memories without having to dig through all the past threads etc. I am going to try and dig up most of that on my own and put in the blog. We don't need it, but its just something nice to have.
Have you looked at it yet, I've added several bits of content and plan to add more as I get more.

Honestly, I am going to let someone else deal with the sticker. I'm pretty easy to please in regards to that. From that, my input will be: whatever works best and is cheapest

Ok guys, I'm still uploading previous videos, and I need to go back and find if there are more meets I have pictures for, but I think the site is pretty much in final draft status. Questions/comments please let me know!

link the meets to the corresponding pictures. that would be easier than going to two separate places. or put the pics in the description when you click the meet date in the blog

Oh, I was also wondering how everyone feels about having a members page.
It would basically be a list of all the DFW crew using RX8 club screen names and pictures of people's cars.
I was thinking that the picture of your car would be from the front passenger side looking down at perhaps a 45% angle?
