DFW: Eagles Canyon Track Day - Sunday, September 14th
Hey guys & gals,
In case you didn't know, Eagles Canyon Raceway in Slidell (about 20 miles NW of Denton) is now offering monthly track days open to the general public. The next scheduled event for cars is coming up on Sunday, September the 14th. Cost is $150 per person, and I believe there are still slots open in all three groups (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). Instructors are available for all beginner and intermediate students.
I will be instructing at this event. Look for the Nordic Green RX-8 in the parking lot with the black wheels and introduce yourself!
Click on Eagles Canyon's website for more information. See you at the track!

Hey! There are still open spots for this event. This is only the second public track day Eagles Canyon has done, so we're still trying to get the word out so that people know about it.
The schedule calls for a minimum of four 25-minute track sessions. Hell of a deal at this beautiful track!

You'd have to ask Eagles Canyon directly, and I'm going to guess the answer will be "no", unless they are familiar with your instructor. Typically, tracks want their own instructors handling students who haven't been signed off solo, for liability reasons. In addition, "your" instructor will not be familiar with the policies and procedures specific to Eagles Canyon unless he's instructed for this group before. Every track - and every event organizer - handles things a little differently.
Once you've been signed off solo, I believe you would be able to have a passenger with you, in which case "your" instructor could ride along with you. However, don't expect to get signed off solo after just a session or two if this is your first time at the track.
FWIW, most of the Eagles Canyon instructors (like yours truly ) also instruct for various other organizations, like Apex Driving Academy at MSR, NASA, Driver's Edge, PCA, BMWCCA, etc.

Nope - instructors are included with the price of admission and available to all skill levels. Novice/intermediate drivers must have an instructor riding shotgun until they have been signed off solo at Eagles Canyon.
