do u always ride around with ur foot resting on the clutch? damn.. yes more than likely it was a missfire ... i'd put money on it.... just because your plugs were only 6 months old doesn't mean a thing... let me break it down purple frog style.. oh i mean barney style for u... if u in fact had true missfires before....and coils and wires were the fault of it....replacing just the coils and wires will fix only the source of the missfires from the original event... during this first event.. stuff happend when it missfired... its called unburnt fuel.... damn now ur 6 month old plugs are wet as hell with fuel and oil.... replace the coils and wires and now u have and situation where u have a very rich or unclean burn in the chamber... long story short.... ur plugs became fouled during event #1 ... with out cleaning they have just become the new source of Event #2..... get it ... got it ...... gooooood.....
u didnt say it.... but i know u would have...

My guess is that the misfire was related to something they did recently. I was just asking if you thought it was a misfire based on what I was telling you.

well as we offered before...... do the break in while driving down here, and after checking into the hotel come straight to the house for a quick oil change to get that break in oil out, might even suggest putting in a thicker oil for the run because of the heat it will be seeing

I would agree with you EXCEPT, they checked the plugs when they did a compression test/decarb, and I actually got the remark that I had a great spark. And no, my foot was not resting on the clutch, but the vibration was so audible that even my wife remarked about. So maybe some back story would help. The plugs were replaced six months ago for routine maintance. I needed to do wires/coils at the same time but did not have the funds to do so, so it got put off. When they were checked when I brought it they were very loose. Now I could be assuming things, but based on the service that I got from them, I would expect that even a half decent mechanic would clean the plugs when having starting issues and replacing coils and wires.

they must have been appeasing you and talking about your personality.... which we all know they were lying ...
how did they test the spark... with an inline spark tester that is read inbetween either the coil and wire or wire and plug... or laid the side of the plug against a ground and observed it jump the plug gap or invent a special micro camera that you put into the combustion chamber (that would only theoretically observe one igniton of the plug) to watch it fire under pressure with atomized fuel and air?
ive done a decarb once or twice and my trick is use old spare plugs during the whole decarb procedure....that so i don't foul the customers plugs that i probably just put in for them and they are brand new......i've pull a plug or two after a decarb as well they are not the greatest......
a missfire is well think of it as an interuption in a cycle... if u hit a bump in the road i feel it.... change the cycle or interupted the straight surface... if u interrupt the cycle it doesn't "hit" the rotor to make it continue its revolution... hey a "bump" happens... or vibration or imbalance in your case..... it translates from the motor to the mounts to the metal and then ur ***.....
now if the same people that changed ur plugs the first time were the same people who found them loose then that would say someone (a tech) wasn't smart enough to tighten or torque your plugs down to... well at all ... so if they work on cars but cant tighten a bolt then we would all be fucked... so if they can't tighten a bolt do you think that when they get a work order that says replace coils and wires... u think he gives a **** about the plug or would take the extra 15 mins to clean ur plugs when he doesn't get paid for it and he doesn't even give a **** to tighten a plug when he does pull it out.....
there are no more half - decent mechanics anymore.... its either a tech that gives a **** about his job, likes it, and doesn't like **** to come back cause he messed up and then has to fix twice and only got paid one for it... and then u have... whoever the hell it was the worked on ur car... TWICE

Lol its not just me Thomas, its everyone...your a Drama queen. If anyone slightly disagrees with you theres going to be an arguement, not to meantion you will never back down to anyone (except Brian obviously). You just dont take what I have to say to heart because im young. But I suppose if I was older and built my own engine you'd listen to me. Granted Brian knows a shitload more than me, but that doesnt mean what I do know is wrong.
