DFW Owners?

Absolutely.
At El Dorado, I dealt with keith somethingorother when they tried to push the demo car for over MSRP. He was let go this week. Then I dealt with Tracy Moore who did not tell me in advance that he was pulling a car with 600 miles on it.
Since then, his partner has called me, and I cant remember her name.
At Town North, I dealt initially w/Greg Scott. I don't know if I'd purchase from there either.
What I would do is go out to Mesquite or Hurst and check their dealers. I'm purchasing from Hiley Mazda in Hurst and the dealer I'm dealing with is Ben Schaulk(spelling?). I'm paying 500 over invoice minus 500 for the college graduate discount so invoice.
If you have the extra time, go out to Prestige Mazda. Look up their address on the web. They're off 820 somewhere, but I've heard they're really giving good deals.

I bought my RX-8 in 11/03 from Hancock Mazda. It was a good buying experience. I first just called the dealership to ask a few questions about the rx-8 and Gene, the salesman I was working with said he was new and was unable to directly answers some of my questions but would try and find out. About ten minutes later the sales manager called back and said they were doing follow-ups on Gene since he was new. Sales manager wanted to know if Gene was pleasant and was able to answer my questions. I was impressed that they were doing follow-ups on new employees. I work in customer service for a company and seeing management take the initiative with their new employees tells me they are trying hard to be customer oriented. The sales manager answered my questions and I went the a couple of days later and found a beautiful Velocity Red MC with a GT package w/o nav, and had a spoiler. I wasn't sure I wanted the spoiler but I fell in love with that metal flake red I just had to buy.
The car has been great and extremely fun to drive.
Are there any RX-8 auto clubs in the Dallas/Ft. area that do meet and greets?

Titanium 6spd GT, spoiler
I got mine from Town North back in August. No hassles at all. Dealt with Gary. I would have no problem recommending them.
Anyone have a preference on service? I've been taking mine to Elderado since that's closer for me, but Town North wouldn't be too far out of the way.

Silver 6spd, GT, spoiler
I got mine last week at Town North. I spent the previous two weeks lurking around the forum for insights from current owners. The car is great!!
Anytime I have a question I check the forum for advice. It got me through the thrills of Homelink programming . . .

I will never service mine at Eldorado. They know me there and probably hate me for not buying from them, but then again, I could never trust them again anyway considering the number of times they've lied to me.
I'll probably have mine serviced at town north or hiley in hurst where I bought it.

did you catch my earlier notes about eldorado and the crap they tried to pull on me?
I have lots of reasons to dislike them.
On a good note, I did get my car on thursday from Hiley mazda in hurst and it was a great experience. I paid invoice for the car and got it financed and everything in a few hours up there.
I'm having a blast driving it too. It was well worth the wait to get a car with 6 miles on it rather than 600.

I purchased my RX8 from Hiley Mazda in Hurst. I am still waiting to get my 2nd set of keys, owners manual, and warranty info. They had to get my car from Austin, and forgot the manual and keys. It's been 10 days, and they keep telling me that the items are being fed exd. Slow mail. On a lighter note, I went to Hillard Mazda in Ft. Worth to test drive an RX8 and wouldn't you know they couldn't start the car!!! The salesman didn't know about the flooding problem, and they didn't know alot about the car. That was enough to convince me to go elsewhere.

I'm a new RX-8 owner from CarMax of all places.
Got a great deal on an almost fully loaded RX-8 Manual for around 25k - only things NOT on it are leather seats, navigation system and the sunroof.

Only Lightning Yellow Rx8 in Burleson
so when you see us, go ahead and honk........
The only thing we had added from the base package was a rear spoiler - that's really all we wanted.....
You know - it's funny, but true: I read in one of the previous threads when a new owner asked what should they do after getting their car and one of the things they were told was to get used to people staring at them.
It's really cool, pulling up to or through an intersection, seeing people point at this car and smile. I like that a lot.
We got it from Hiley in Arlington a little over a month ago and I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!
Man, it is THE first car I've ever owned that I describe, when asked, by just grinning and saying one word: "FUN!" :D
I let anyone who wants to drive it - it's just to much fun not to share.
Man, what a blessing - never thought I would ever have anything like this in my life!

Tall Corn,
Congrats on the new car! I'll be joining you down in Burleson sometime the first week of May. My wife and I are building our first house down there and it is just about finished (currently we live in Arlington).
I drive a Base 6MT Titanium. I purchased from El Dorado back last August as they were the only one who had the exact car I was looking for. It was a preorder that was never picked up. Lucky me! Otherwise I would have had to wait until Oct/Nov. Despite all the bad reports from El Dorado mentioned above, my experience with them was just fine. I service my car at Hiley in Hurst however as they are closer.

that'll make 4 Rx8's in town
Very cool, Allstate! There's a guy that goes to my church (TCAB on Wilshire - next to Braham's) that just leased a Winner Blue model with all the dealer demo options except for the NAV and we've also seen a red one tooling around.
I'll be watching for you. The guy at church and myself have decided to work together in finding out stuff and maintaining our new thrills. I've asked all the police that visit our church to be lenient with my wife if they see that car scooting just a hair too fast - she's still learning how to handle that spontaneous acceleration response. You at most of the town's posted speed limits before you can shift out of 2nd......
If you're out and you see my wife driving it, just tell her you're a member of this forum, and she'll know what you're talking about.
We'll be watching and giving you the "oh, yeah...." nod as we pass each other!

I don't mind -
getting together to discuss mods, ideas, or anything in general, it's just I've seen picutres in this forum of rallies where areas of the exterior have marks from kissed orange cones.......
>oooo! That'll leave a mark!<
and that's a concern for me - orange scrapage would so conflict with that beautiful yellow paint!

Ajax, I saw a gray with a spoiler at the Kroger on Preston up in Frisco this weekend, was that you? It had El Dorado tags on it still so probably not, but it seems there are two like yours at least in the Frisco/Plano area.
The bad news is that I may be getting a gray GT with a spolier this weekend so if you see me around sorry to copy you guys, but I love the look.

Nah, that wasnt me.
I was up in the plano/frisco area this weekend, but i definitely don't have eldorado tags on my car! I dont even have a front plate on my car at all.
I've seen that guy too and if he bought from el dorado, he got scammed.
