El Dorado Mazda - McKinney (TX) Comments
Anyone has experience with these people?
I am waiting for a shippment coming in by first half of Sepember with a Velocity Red, Touring.
I was wondering if anyone has any comments as far as satisfaction, and who they dealt with.
Thanks!

OK, I finally found out what this guys are all about. My salesman was Jay, but I originally contacted Eric & Tracy over email.
I have no complaints about them, in fact, they were extremely attentive and cooperative. However, things got rough when I inquired about financing options: I spoke with someone at their financing department and asked him if they would work with PeopleFirst Auto Loans. His answer: "Unfortunately we don't. We had lots of problems with them, it takes time to cash their checks, etc..."
I then asked him aboutb their best financing rates at the moment. He replied that he couldn't say quote me anything over the phone, thus it would be considered a verbal contract. Boy, I wasn't even asking him for a quote or anything. I just wanted to know what their floor APR was in case my credit would come up perfect (ha ha). He wouldn't tell me a thing, and kept insisting that PeopleFirst was not an option with them. That really pissed me off. I can understand that they probably deserve to make a buck with their financing arrangements....but everything has a limit.
I was very dissapointed. I started looking up inventory through MazdaUsa.com and found one dealer nearby with the exact vehicle I wanted. I called them up and they told me they had it. I then asked them about their financing: "If you have an approved loan with anyone, we honor it -but we will try to beat it if we can first."
What happened? I am the happy owner of an Velocity Red, 6MT, 6D Chgr, Touring Package. How good was my experience with EMD: Worst one, being my first one. With the other dealer (what the heck, its Hancock Mazda) EXCELLENT.
Hope this experiences help some people.

I called and made an appointment to see a salesman...wanted to drive an 8 and have them look at my trade-in.
Once I got there, I was immediately handed-off by the salesman to an apprentice, who didn't know anything about the car, the financing, nothing.
So finally, they came back and offered me $3K less for my trade than I had been offered at a couple of other dealers (non Mazda). It was a joke.
I called Beasley Mazda in Austin, and we cut a deal on the phone, even a quote on the trade - site unseen. I drove the 200+ miles to pick it up yesterday. They were awesome. Ask for Justin or Rush. It's well, well worth the drive down. And the drive back is much better. Best of all, no insulting games!!!

But the worst thing with El Dorado was their Financing people. I got a pretty decent quote from PeopleFirst for a loan. When I called EDM up, they told me: We don't accept PPF...sorry. You can finance with us...
I asked the guy: OK, tell me what is the best rate you have available if my credit is perfect...
His answer: sorry, I cannot do that over the phone. If anything goes sour, what I told you would be considered a verbal contract.
I was like, what the heck!, I am not asking him for a formal quote...just to know what the current rates were with their financing companies....but he wouldn't say a word.
End of story: I am not returning there, unless I have to go for the schedule maintenance. Although I much rather give the job to the dealer I bought from....from my perspective they deserve it.

Same thing happened to me. However, the 'apprentice' was reasonably good; however, he never returned any calls until the moment I told him I was going to shop around.

I am looking for someone to service my 8 in the Plano area. Have you heard anything about the service at either EDM or Town North?

I feel the same way, although it's impossible since I bought from an Austin dealer.

EDM: Nor good nor bad. NADA,...guess I'll have to find out for myself.
On a different note, I live closer to TNM..... like right in front of them, across 75N... :D
BTW, how many miles do you have?

Boy are they full of it. You can not have a contract unless BOTH parties are in agreement. AND for almost any loans they exceed the length of terms that a verbal contract can be.
