flipped the bird by fellow rx8er

as i was leaving work i got the bird from another person in a blue rx8... funny i thought all the people that owned an rx8 were a community...

can't you appreciate the fact that other people enjoy the car as much as the you do and you're not going to be the only one with one??? i dunno why that person decided to do that but oh well...

i enjoy seeing other rx8s out there... and i'm not gonna hate on them...

Owned.....

Yes, I've noticed that RX-8 owners make the BMW owners look downright sociable!

Obviously not in SoCali.. you try flipping someone off like that, Road Rage times 10 happens... the guy will follow you home, stalk you, tell you that they know where you live, and when you try and leave the house, they'll kill your family and eat your babies..etc etc...

Saw a titanium grey on 1960 the other day. I was making a left turn when i saw it in my rear view mirror. Passing me up he revved all the way to 7-9000 rpm. Fellow 8 owners are so friendly huh? BTW im the velocity red around the north houston 1960 area with the mazdaspeed spoiler. Maybe suprised cause im a bit young to have one of these beauties.

I'm transfering to the Houston area (okay, Brenham, about 40 minutes west on 290).

IS there any local meet & greets? "Lilith" is lonely... :D

IM me some details! Thanks!

Personally if I were still living in Brenham I'd go over to Blinn college and meet & greet the 18~20 year old ladies. Offer to take them out to the lake "just to hang out and relax", of course this gives you a chance to show off the car too. Bring some cheap sugary wine and you'll be testing your suspension in no time. :D

Damn. I was going to say it was me, but I always go in the opposite direction (SH-6), or 290 on the way to school.

Besides, I would never rev hard on another RX-8 owner, let alone anyone else. I keep my hard revs on the track.

There are some people here on the forum that live on the NW side, me included. PM if you want to hang out.

I dunno, maybe I look weird or something but i've waved at roughly 4 other 8 owners passing by and recieved, at most, a blank stare back! Usually they look at me, then quicky look away as if they didn't notice.

Where's the community people!!!

odd I thought I was the only one who has had to deal with other 8 owners being nasty, so far I've seen a blue one that lives across the street that runs from me everytime he sees me (must be the yellow) and a while back on a feeder road this lady in a titanium grey was trying to fit her car in my trunk so I stepped on it to get away from her, she had a passenger in her car so maybe she was trying to be an idiot..er I mean showoff. :D on a brighter note, I've seen a couple of 1st and 2nd gens that were waving, nodding etc. so it's not all that big a deal I guess, probably just part of living in snootyvilleleftisithell Austin

Never a flicker, always a flickee, I drive nice unless I feel that the surrounding drivers are posing a hazard (I do like to have an "out" as referred in defesnive driving) I don't zip around too much and I dno't flip off people for no reason, had some punk kid in daddy's cadillac do that to me the other day, he was doing like 40 in the left lane in a 65mph zone on 183 out here, I came up on him quick thinking he would see me and let me pass (yeah right, in this frickin' place?) and he just kept his speed and flipped me off out his window, like he was saying "what are you going to do about it?" or something. I'm wondering if I should call his parents and tell on him :D

Pretty sad that this is mostly about Texas drivers...sounds more like New York. I am the only one in my town that I know of, so I have only seen 2 others on my road trips (both at gas stations). One came up and chatted with me and we exchanged tips...nice guy. The other gave me dirty looks while we stood in line together waiting to pay. I was pretty surprised, never said "hello" or anything. I guess he just didn't like not being the only 8 in his town (mine is prettier anyway). :D

I always wave when I see another RX8er. I had my boss with me one day and waved and he just laughed at me. I told him we are a close knit community, but from the sound of it some of us are nicer than others.

I almost always wave... but I admit I pulled up behind a silver on I-35 going about 45-50 with no traffic, and encouraged him to go a little faster, even paced him on the left hand side for a sec. No wave, no nod, no recognition that anyone else was there, only a slightly uncomfortable look on thier face. He prolly thought I was being a dick... oh well.

Near as I can figure, either the silver was on a test drive and scared to open it up... or perhaps they were driving someone else's car. Or maybe they read one of the numerous MPG threads here and was experimenting .

At any rate it makes me sad to see an 8 being driven like a Volvo.

I get about 50/50 waves/ignores from 8's in the Austin area.
