Yeah I have been driving the rx8 as my DD but just now have switched over to my wifes car which is a 08 ford focus (35mpg!) so yeah I am saving money but I hate driving that car! it seems like everytime I drive it is see 8's all over the road......damn.....

The thread isn't about boost, it's about gas prices. If you live in Brazil, then sure, using sugar ethanol is cheap cause they have an over abundance of sugar, however, corn ethanol for us in the states is *NOT* cheap. It costs more per gallon (and I am not just referring to the price at the pump) for corn ethanol. Add on to that that every product that had corn in it is suddenly more expensive and you find that not only are you being taxed by the govt to subsidize corn ethanol, you are also being taxed for the increase in price of other goods that the lower supply of corn is causing to increase.
On the up side, higher oil prices mean non-conventional drilling means are worth pursuing, which will perhaps lead to tech advances in that field, thus lowering the drilling costs and the price point which it is profitable to do so.
