Ghosts in SA?

I believe I had my first encounter with a ghost this weekend? Has anyone else had any experiences with ghosts?

ok, so it wasnt at the tracks.....

My cousin is in town visiting from Montana, she is a big architecture buff, so we spent most of the day site seeing and taking pictures. So last night we made it to St. Mary's Univ. and were taking pics of the admin building. While on the back side of the building, we noticed 3 windows on the 3rd floor, in the middle window was some kind of white cabinet. She took a picture and we focused our attention to the tower in the middle of the campus, when we looked back at the windows, something had appeared in the first window, we reviewed the camera and in the picture there was nothing there. We kept looking and it looked at it was a statue or bust of the Virgin Mary, but i swear it wasn't there when we first walked up. Then we noticed what looked like a person peeking out of the third window as if to be hiding in the corner... this thing was pale white and appeared to be making gestures.... as we started to walk away it moved from the right corner of the window to the middle of the window as if to follow us... and i saw it raise its hand...... at that point we took up a brisk walk and headed for the gate. On our way, the campus security stopped us and asked what we were doing on campus, we told him what happened and he was like "yeah whatever the admin building is locked there is no one up there.... i will show you...." we went back and there was nothing in the windows, he even shined his light into the windows. "It's late and your mind is playing tricks on you, be safe and have a good night" and he rode off.....

I had goosebumps all over my body and this point.... i kid you not my 5 o'clock shadow grew like half an inch

Go take the Ghost tour downtown sometime. It's pretty fun. There are 2 of them. It's more of a history lesson but still pretty cool.

This is the one you want to take:
http://www.bestsanantonioghosttours.com/

This is the other one. They were pretty damned stupid! Their site originally was nothing more than a slam of the first one. They've been generally dishonest and their tour was pretty awful. Here's the link anyways.
http://www.alamocityghosttours.com/T...GhostHunt.html

Keep in mind I've never seen a ghost on these tours. I've taken the one in the 1st link 3 times and the one in the second link once. That was enough. Each time it's been lots of fun and you learn something new each time.

The tracks... is that the place where you stop on them and you're pushed across by little ghost kids?

I've always wanted to try that.

You guys should probably realize that you don't get pushed across. If you sit there and wait for that to happen, the only thing that will push you is the next train! You are supposed to stop on the tracks briefly and then proceed across. After you are across, you put baby powder on the back of the car and hand prints are supposed to appear. They might or they might not. If they don't, it means you have a car that hasn't been touched there in a while. If hand prints do appear, they aren't from those mystical kids pushing you across. The hand prints that you see are really your own and it's the oils from your skin from the last time you touched the car there. It's just showing what was already there. Put the baby powder on the back of the car first and then see if there's a change before and after. Keep in mind no school bus was ever hit at a railroad crossing there as it was all made up.

LOL yeah i know.... but its still fun to scare a city newb, esp is she is hot

A Univ. did a study on the ground surrounding the area, the tracks are actually sloped and therefore its gravity that pulls you across the tracks

i deal with ghosts all the time. everyone in my family says that i have ghosts in my house. i havent seen anything, but when my daughter was 3 she used to start yelling at someone and then would come into the kitchen and say that her friend isnt playing nice. my ex and i thought she had an imaginary friend so we didnt think anything of it. but then one day she came in and said that joey wasnt playing with her. and all he wanted to do was sit there. well we both freaked out and asked who she was talking about. well i have a picture of my friend that i grew up with on the desk and she pointed at it and said thats joey. well this was 5 years ago when she had done this and he has been dead since 97. so yeah we kind of freaked and told her to just ask him to play again later. my son doesnt like going in that room either. i still havent seen anything but i guess something or someone is there.

It's definitely not scary. As I said a good history lesson but entertaining. There's one here in Houston that I want to go on. It starts at the Spaghetti Wharehouse which is weird because the Spaghetti Wharehouse in Austin is supposed to be haunted. Damn dead Italians!

The Bitter End Bistro in Austin was supposed to have been haunted. There were a couple of waiters there that swore they saw some weird stuff happen late at night but they wouldn't go so far as to say they were ghosts. That building was on the back of the Spaghetti Wharehouse. Sadly it burned down a couple of years ago and the remains torn down. That was probably my favorite spot downtown. I was just out there this past weekend and it made me sad to drive by there and see an empty piece of land.

Now that you've mentioned it...I think there was an article several years ago about spooky happenings there at The Bitter End.. I believe it was an AAStatesman article (it being the only major newspaper in our cit lol), but I can't remember exactly when I saw it..

No wait it was maggots.. and both of the trees were infested they where 2 of them right in front of the entrance door.. maaan we cut them down and threw them away.. its a crazy house you get the creeps just walking in
