Got mine today!

Unbelievably, MNAO was right! I called them yesterday and they said delivery was scheduled for today. The car arrived at about 2PM - I had already given up and assumed it would be another few days.

I hate to say this, but I was very disappointed when I sat in it. I was extremely conflicted about whether to buy it. I sat in there for about 10 minutes, and finally decided I needed instant gratification. What is he talking about, you say? HEADROOM!

If I had to do it over again, I might not go with the GT package. I'll be really pissed if next year the moonroof is a separate option, because it is causing all the problems. I sat in the sport version on Saturday in the showroom, and had enough headroom. The moonroof makes it very cramped. I have fairly short hair, and it is brushing against the headliner. I played with ALL the seat adjustments for about 10 minutes, and had a pained look on my face. It just wasn't going where I wanted it to. I finally relegated myself to reclining the seat until I had more clearance. I always drove with my 7's seat pretty far reclined, but I was hoping to not have to do that in the 8. No can do. BTW, I'm 6'4" with a 36" inseam.

The headroom problem aside, I love the car - haven't actually driven it too much yet, but it does get up and go, the handling is great, and the engine sounds SO sweet! I will definitely enjoy this car, especially after I have the docs remove C3 from my neck!

Good luck to the rest of you in getting your cars real soon - it's worth the wait!

Congrats, khoney. I know you'll enjoy it and I hope the headroom thing doesn't really aggravate you. There's a certain advantage to being 5'8"; I can fit in any car I choose. We'll expect to see some great reviews from you in the coming days. Have a ball!

Yep - this is one of those few times I am glad to be under 6' tall. Congrats anyway - can you do a seat swap in the future?

I'm 6'1" and I sat in a GT yesterday and had no problems with the headroom while in a very comfortable driving position. I had plenty of clearance for my baseball cap too...

I didn't fiddle with the seat position at all, but others who are taller than me have said they were able to find a setting that worked for them. Hopefully you will too.

khoney, did you get yours from Nortstar Mazda? I popped in there today while trying to get un-lost (LOL!), but they had already sold their holdings. They didn't seem very interested in talking to me after I told them I was a pre-order at another dealership in FL.

Short subjects and such.

I too wish I could have skipped the sunroof. I'm 6.2 and when I jump in, my hair brushes up against the headliner. After I wiggle my butt down and scoot my hips forward, I then have enough room. Hope you find your wiggle spot as well. Enjoy!

No, I had a great experience at World Car Mazda. Plus, they give every car a free 10yr/100K powertrain warranty.

Sorry I can't hook up with you, BTW. I've been runnin around like a crazy fool trying to try to hit some deadlines before I go on vacation.
