Red - I'm not sure when I'll be in Chicago again. I don't think we're traveling this Christmas so it may not be until next year. On the flip side, when are you coming to Fort Worth?!?!
Question - Would I be crazy to seriously consider trading it in? It's been in 2 accidents, it's got low mileage... with the exception of the accidents, trade-in value is somewhat decent. I could have really low payments on something brand new for half as long as the original note and get better gas mileage. I'm also getting concerned about modding - you can put money into the car but you don't get it back.
I could "invest" in a car and have more to spend on a house... or a family... What does everyone think?

Why would you want to trade your car in? After this accident, you will probably come out with a free turbo charger. Seriously, I think your car is trying to kill itself. If you do trade it in, you should think about getting something more all-terrain and that can handle your driving, maybe something in the lines of a Bradley, Abrams or Panzer.

Just get a bike. As in Bicycle.
They extremely hard to 'Total' no matter how bad the wreck. Re-Sale Value is Pretty Good, and the maintenance is extremely low.
EPA estimates are in infinite miles per gallon.
And you don't need insurance.
You will be extremely healthy, which could possibly prolong your life span.
However, it may get tough in the winter time, and rainy season.
