Houston Car Show
#4
Went with some buddies on Saturday night. Since I went a couple years ago, it wasn't as impressive. But it was still nice to see and sit in some sweet cars.
I was really unimpressed with Mazda's presentation. No Mazdaspeed 8's, a tiny 2-page flier about rotaries, and no model of a Wankel (like how VW has models of their engines ... cut apart so you can see the workings). They had a book on the RX-8 on display, but behind sealed glass doors. I took down the ISBN, but still can't find it online. They also had a Wankel cross-section (very simplified) which could be "cranked" using a wheel on the back ... but again, this was locked up in the display case. C'mon Mazda! If Chrysler can give out $10 freshly-rolled cigars, you could at least spot us some swag.
