Sorry Nick, I'm going to use your video for potential autocrossers.

Open registration begins tomorrow!

Nope.
Register for X2 class.
Its more or less unranked practice but they do time you.
I would say about half the cars out there last time were BMW's though.
Its alot of fun, right now I'm the only one with an RX-8 that is making it out.
Also the event is morning only, you should be heading home around 1:30pm or so.
If you have any questions I'll try to answer them the best I can.

The first half of this post was a filthy lie, and has thus been deleted.
BMWCCA events are open to the public
Not to worry, though, the HouSCCA is hosting an event on 6/1, and non-SCCA members can buy a "Weekend Membership" for $15. I'll see if I can pull a few strings at work tomorrow so I can be there Sunday, but I wouldn't get your hopes up...

You left out a very important bit of info....
In order to run with the BWMCCA you have to be an SCCA member. NO EXCEPTIONS

Dallas chapter of the BMWCCA is hosting an autocross on Saturday and SCCA is hosting one the next day Sunday.

2 things:
1 - I just signed up; I will see you all there :D
2 - I guess you don't have to be a member after all. When you register online it asks you for a member number/exp date/all that jazz. I left those fields blank when I registered and it accepted it, so it looks like it's an open event.
I've edited my previous post to keep from scaring anyone off.

To sweeten the deal its $25.
For anyone who wants to come out you have to register online. You can't just show up.
You might want to clean out your car Saturday night. Basically everything but the drivers side floormat needs to come out.

Yeah, if you want to watch you can just show up.
But just like NASCAR watching is boring. The cars look like they are going slow.
Inside the car its a different story.
If you are interested I would highly recommend just signing up. An instructor will be with you the first couple of runs.
If you are worried about your car, in my opinion the track is safer than any commute through Houston during rush hour!

Only thing you really wear down is your tires & your brakes, and even then it only accumulates to about a week or two worth of day-to-day wear, which is practically nothing.

If you want to ride without registering come to the HouSCCA on 6/1

Just entered!!
This will be my second auto-x event and im looking forward to it! Quick question. Can I use a biker helmet? A friend of mine rides and has a few extras lying around........ Also, should I have my number and class already taped on the sides of the car?

You can probably get away with wearing a biker helmet. They don't seem to check all that closely. I'm not really sure what the rules are for helmets though. I bought a SA2005 Helmet just to be on the safe side.
I'm glad more than just the usualy RX-8 guys are coming out. For anyone else stumbling on this today is the last day to register.
