Helmet made it to me at lunch time. Being all white and without the visor I look like one of the storm troopers off space *****.
Registration closes at midnight.
Next autocross will be June 1.

Today was awesome. Great to see Hero come out.
The track was fast as hell (bouncing off the rev in second) and the highlight of the day for me is when I was riding in an Elise with R-compounds and the driver forgot to compensate for my 200lb ***. Needless to say we ended up sliding sideways in the grass at 60mph.
Oh yeah, there is no room for passengers in an Elise. I sat sideways to make room for the shifter. I thanked the guy a million times for letting me ride, but I doubt he will ever let anyone ride with him again lol.
Next autocross is at Gulf Greyhound in La Marque, Tx on 6/1/2008.

Registrations are open now but you can show up and race. Its $25 for each heat and you can race 2 heats if you double enter. Practice session is the day before and you can only attend if you register online and you are a member of the SCCA.
I will start a new thread ater Nick gets some of his crazy videos posted.

i will share some of mine from dallas too, fast fast course.. and combine that with me not autoxing for a while = tons of wipes lol... u'll see. pissed me off i can't get below 110.. best was like 113 =/.. the dude with rx8 with R comp and everything got 95 and he was like, ur lucky if u can get 10 seconds below me.. GRRRRR i want r comp T.T

R comps aren't going to shave off 10 seconds on a 95 second course!
We both pretty much started out.
The BMW autocross was superfast. I was running 42-43's all day.
Nicks best time was 40.152
Hero's time was 41.387
And my time 42.366
Nick and I are completely stock. Hero has RE-01's and a ton of suspension modifications.
I'm the usual 2 seconds behind Nick.
Last event at Gulf Greyhound when Nick drove my car his best time was 58.740 and mine was 61.459.
Since he's the only other RX8 guy out there that has a similar set up he's the one I'm trying to catch up to. This past event I started to actually feel good about my driving towards the end. I hope to close some distance next event.

I'll post the video where I had you and Hero sit your fat asses in the back so I could powerslide around like an asshat.
I'm quite proud of my performance on Sunday - despite driving like a moron all day I managed to get 3rd place, missing 2nd place by only 0.050 seconds! Not bad considering I'm bone stock and he was in a 350Z on race tires

hahah, i am going on practice day too, we will see, i think i was driving too hard and spinning out too much this past weekend so by the 5th, 6th run.. i think i was loosing grip due to too much heat on the tire.=/ best run was 4th run.
now.. should i go to sunday... saturday is gonna be crazy! 5 hour practice... the gas @.@

I'll show you where you're losing those 2 seconds on me during the practice day. After that you should get with a real instructor - I'm full of bad habits and you really shouldn't come to me for too many pointers.
I think I just need a better feel of the car. Once I realize where I need to be I have problems getting there. My first event at HPA I could just not adjust to the concrete. This time, especially towards the end I was really comfortable but still messing up in key areas. Again towards the end I knew where I needed and wanted to be, I just couldn't get there. I think you said it best when you said I'm looking ahead, just not doing anything about it.
I think the practice day will really give me the seat time to find the limits of the car, and give me the ability to put the car where I want it to be.
I think I'm just going to keep editing the title and first post of this thread for each event. I'll do it that way since regional forums are usually slow and if I post every event it might clutter up the forums.
Edit 2: Any way to change the thread name? Or do I just need to PM a mod every autocross event!?

New event should have a new thread. You aren't going to clutter up the subforum - there's only 1 or 2 events a month, and 2 new threads a month isn't going to hurt anything.
Plus, one thread for every event will get very confusing very fast for those who don't frequently post.
Someone got pictures of me being a a tard!
2nd run - with HeavyMetal riding shotgun
Me slipping with the lardasses in the back
...slipping more...
...SAVED IT!! (into a cone)

All of the videos on my youtube account are of my autocrosses - watch as you please
http://www.youtube.com/user/KineticRX
All but one of them are minimally edited. "Pure" autocross vids, if you will. This one, however... I felt like having a little fun
