Houston Grand Prix Tickets
If anyone is interested in going to the Grand Prix, I have a few tickets. They are for all 3 days and are full access passes which include grandstand and paddock. Since I only have so many and they are good for all 3 days, I will not have enough for each day. I know of a few people that are only going on Friday which will leave those tickets free to be used Thursday and Saturday. As far as I know, all of my tickets for the LeMans race on Friday are spoken for but I should have a few for the Indy race on Saturday. Plans always change so I may have a Friday one free up. If anyone is interested please let me know. These are free courtesy of Mazda and are intended for rotary enthusiasts. Numbers are VERY limited so first come first serve and contingent upon those who are already using them on Friday not wanting to go on Saturday. I'll definitely have several for Thursday qualifying which will also get us right up on the Courage to meet the drivers. I'll have to meet with you at Reliant park at the entrance to give them to you. If you are interested, hurry!

I wouldn't mind having some for Saturday. I got a bunch for Friday from work, but ironically, I'm stuck at work all day Friday. Will you be going? Let me know.

1935 lbs. FTW!
I'll be there Friday/Saturday, mostly going to watch Lemans. Parking with the S2000/Lotus car club corral. Look for a stock 05 winning blue with appearance and rotary accent package.

Hey Fred, I've already got tickets for today (leaving within the hour) but I could use some for Saturday's action.
That's excellent that you and Mazda are doing this for us.
I've already been out racing around the track. Lots of fun. I've got some cool pix of my 8 that I can post. I even shot a video of taking my 8 around it that I can get hosted.

I also wanted to mention that one of the race coordinators is a club member from Cleveland who has fully modified his 8 for racing. I offered for him to take mine out for a spin, but he declined. I thought he would have enjoyed driving the 8 on this brand new track, but maybe after converting to a race car it is hard to go back to stock.

I'm a little bit unsure as to how many are still free for Saturday if any. I've got 7 for today. Tomorrow's tickets are all gone. Saturday I'm still not sure about. At the risk of getting hate calls, if anyone is interested call me. I won't be by a computer much more this weekend. 281-386-6865
I'll be wearing a Houston RX-7 club shirt today and a Mazda Rev It up hat so look for me! I'll be there around 5.

All of my tickets have been spoken for. The people that said they weren't going back on Saturday apparently are now and it was contingent upon that. Oh well.
Got up close ad personal with the Courage yesterday. That's the loudest car out there! Sadly it's lap times are about 5 seconds off the leader and the track is only 1.7 miles long. They qualified 4th in their class (out of 5) and 14th overall. I saw it spin out yesterday during qualifying. They didn't hit anything though. Also saw a champ car decide it wanted to test the high sped strength of a concrete wall. Messed that one up.

They used to be known as Indy cars rather than their respective series names and I'm a creature of habit so I still call them that. Even though they are 2 different series and cars, I still refer to Champ cars and IRL as Indy Cars. They were all one series in the 90's and probably will be again soon.
