My pedal felt the same after welding it, though it didn't show any signs of stress near the spot weld.
And squeaking can also come from that spring and you can easily apply some grease to it and see if the squeak disappears.

Not too bad, you will need a 3/4" racket, 12mm deep well socket, long extension, needle nose pliers. Took about 20 minutes to take out and about the same to reinstall. What sucks is the working upside down under the dash. I removed all the sensors and the green stop pads before taking it to the muffler shop to be welded.

I did a quick spray of clear coat, but left the welds as is. This part of the pedal assembly is really far up under the dash. If I had Shaq sized feet I might worry about my shoe laces...

I mean not only for safety of others and your self but the safety of your transmission.

What if your switching to 3rd and your clutch snaps off and you cant shift into neutral?
You can safely take the trans out of gear without the clutch, you can even get it into gear without using the clutch. You just have to match the engine speed with the engine/trans RPM. You can play around and find the points where it will go into or out of gear without the clutch, but it will go in efortlessly.

The problem would be coming to a stop and getting first gear going...

It's a tough job only because of the close inverted confines under the dash. It also helps to wedge something between the slave cylinder and the strut top on the engine compartment side to ensure easier/proper pedal mating.

Pulling out of gear without the clutch isn't a problem...putting it back in gear is.

You should have taken the extra time to read the rest of the thread. In fact, you should still do this, and maybe learn something

I took my car to the Mazda Dealership today because my clutch pedal snapped. They are telling me the master cylinder is leaking and the clutch needs to be replaced. Is this true? They are quoting me 1,800.49 plus tax. Can I just replace the clutch pedal and solve the problem? Please help

Is it leaking? They'll need to show you where.. That clutch snapping doesn't have a thing to do with your MC.

If you were not in FL I would say you need to get your car towed out of the IPAC parking lot!

Where in Florida? As been said.........snapping is one thing and leaking is another.
Maybe there is someone on here close by who could look at it real quick for you. If nothing else make them show you where the leak is, but don't give them time to go and pour some on it first. Now.....do you keep an eye on your brake fluid level? Have you noticed it being low or had to add any lately?
If you don't believe them, have it flatbedded the hell out of there and go somewhere else!

Oh....what is your year and mileage?
