Ike droppings on the road!

I am so frustrated! It seems every bubba with a truck is out on Houston roads not strapping down ANYTHING. I have so far almost hit a wheelbarrow on 610, had a sheet of plywood hit a Tahoe in front of me and I zigged to dodge the pieces. If I would of zagged, I would of had damage. Random things on the road (logs, two by fours, fence pieces, mattresses, etc) are everywhere!

I had to run over a two by four in traffic because I had nowhere to go. It didn't do any damage, but this is getting old, real fast.

Sorry for the rant

I'm with you on all this, nine months ago I had a piece of sheet metal slice through my paint on the entire passenger side of my car (the guy in front of me lost it, it flew in the air at my windshield and flipped to the side at the last second, bounced off of and dented my fender and slid down the car, sounded like nails on a chalk board). 75 at 635 in Dallas...

Same place back in April, ran over a ladder and a bunch of spread out steel beams (because swerving would have put me into the side of another truck) but no real damage from that, some scratches and a need for an alignment.

Even a few weeks ago in Tennessee my friend and I hit what I can only assume was scattered lumber and stones all over the road...in the fog...that could have destroyed my tires so I can't complain too much but in my mind the damage is horrible-destroyed my driver side undercarriage/wheel well and tore up underneath my car pretty good. Still trying to get all that back together as best I can.

All three instances, no where to go, nothing I could have done. And all three instances are the only signs of wear to my car.

Sorry to take over your rant, just glad someone else understands! GRRRRRRRR!!

It'll get better. I went through the same thing after Katrina here in New Orleans. Actually made me decide to get the additional road hazard coverage for my tires when I bought my car

I feel your pain, after waiting over a year to finally get my front bumper replaced/repainted, once it was done it lasted all of about 4 days before it got a paint chip, paint was too new to clear bra, couldn't wax it or put painters tape etc. ugh...don't know why the front bumper on these cars is so easy to screw up but it's annoying, I've never seen anything on the front of a car so fragile in all my life. Crappy roads, trucks being stupid, other drivers cutting into your following space putting inches between you and their car etc., it happens, I've learned to try and let it go, otherwise I'll just "drive" myself nuts over something I have no control over.
