From what I heard... and I am new to the whole 8 community, so please correct me if I am wrong. I heard that the automatic RX8s were having a lot more issues with the engines going than the manuals. I didn’t research why that is or even if it is true or not.

But manuals are fun to drive and I am glad are getting it

Oh, haha you got it all wrong, its not the engine itself, its the people. The people that buy the automatics (MOST of them, not all) dont know anything about the Rotary in general, so that means they dont redline it, add oil regularly etc. They pretty much know nothing at all about the car other than it "looks cool". Because they dont redline it the engine builds up carbon and eventually it just breaks down from too much carbon.

Nothing to do with the engine itself, since its virtually the same engine as in the Manual just 2 ports less... it has to deal with the driver not knowing anything about the car.

Haha you should ignore all Brandon's talk of getting a stick. We've been hearing that from him for years. He even bought a carbon fiber hood instead of saving up his money to get the stick ! :P

Oh, I never got an answer back from you on what you plan to do with your car...

Mods?
Track/Autocross?

Would you classify yourself as an aggressive driver? (like been over or at 120mph?)

Haha yes I would fall under the aggressive driver catagory if 120 mph + is that. At the moment I am not sure what I an going to do with the r3. I know road ralleys will be something that I will do but from there dunno
