Just need to vent

I just needed to vent for a minute. You guys are always good listeners.

What a week! I'm referring to the past 4 days in particular. Friday I got a phone call that my best friend from Arkansas had died. I hadn't seen him in a while and we had planned on meeting this weekend in Austin. I was real close to the family, and it just makes everything that much harder.

On to the car... As usual, she is at her second home (Hiley Mazda). Yet again, I am experiencing loss of power, misfire codes, and bad vibrations. I think it is going to be at least 2 major problems. I've tried new plugs, but that didn't help. They said I may have a dead rotor.

Now I have to find out if my car will be ready by Wednesday so I can go to Arkansas for the funeral. Ok, I'm done.

Thanks everyone.

Dealing with the loss of my friend has been real rough. I guess part of it is the fact that I've never lost anyone... no family or friends. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

As far as the car goes, lemon law is long gone. I have exceded the mileage at this point. It seems that it's probably just the coils. The coils are going to be on order and be in tomorrow along with upgraded motor mounts. The noise and vibration is more than likely coming from the clutch. I was given the option of paying $1100 for a clutch replacement, or doing it myself and seeing if it solved the problem. I'll be ordering a clutch tonight.

Thanks again guys!

So... after getting a call saying my car is ready, I went and picked it up. They changed the motor mounts and the coils. We decided the noise was coming from the clutch, so I agreed to change the clutch. I made it about 1/2 mile home and the check engine light came back on. I had to take off from 3500 RPM or it would stall. Now she is in my driveway and won't start. What a F'ing week!!!!

I didn't think there was a mileage restriction on the lemon law.

How long do I have to file a complaint?

A Lemon Law complaint must be filed within six months following the earlier of:

1. expiration of the express warranty term;
2. 24 months; or
3. 24,000 miles following the date of delivery of the vehicle (except TRVs)

In other words, the filing period is determined by which of the above events comes first. To be safe, file your complaint as soon as you realize the dealer is having problems repairing the vehicle.
There are a lot of reasons why mine doesn't classify. Anyway, I am still in Arkansas and plan on buying my clutch when I get back. I guess I'll change that sometime next weekend.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I know how it feels to lose someone close.

As for the car.. it sounds like its time for a "oops, I forgot to set the parking brake when I stopped at the top of the montain cliff to get out and take a picture" moment.

One insurance claim, a loan application, and a quick trip to the dealership to sign a few papers and you'll be as good as new - literally.

That was just a joke.

You could, however, put it back to stock and trade it in and let the dealership deal with it.
