Had a new clutch put in after a bunch of problems, runs very good now but I still have an annoying squeak squeak squeak during idle.

So hopefully the techs will just be able to realign the ppf or change the tranny oil and fix it. I want a quick fix this time, without them tearing apart my tranny.

Ahhh, got it. Hopefully you will have it back in time. I was really looking forward to seeing the MS kit up close. I just changed out my tranny gear oil and my rear diff fluid today. Redline oils FTW.

What fluids did you go with? MT-90/MTL and 75w90? I'm running a new blend that we have been playing around with in the race cars. Straight Redline 75w90 in the diff and a 50/50 blend of Redline ATF and 75w90 in the tranny. I was running MT-90 and MTL in the tranny before but didn't like how notchy it felt with the AFE short shifter.

Yep exactly, MT-90 MTL for the tranny and 75W-90 for the diff. I don't know what was in the tranny before as I have not had the car for very long, but whaever it was it deffinately needed to be changed. As for the rear diff, the fluid I drained still looked pretty clean and fresh. Oh well, I know what is in there now and I know it's fresh. Hmmm a blend of ATF ? and 75W-90? That sounds interesting. How's that working out? What is the weight on the ATF?

Seems to work out pretty well, our transmissions are lasting a little longer. as for the ATF weight, not really specified on Redline's site but it states it has a higher viscosity than type-f tranny fluid. All I know is I have 70k on my tranny and it is a ton better than when I first bought it.

Sorry to thread jack, hope the meet goes off without a hitch. You guys be careful if you head out on 195...hopefully it's a lot better now than it used to be. Looking forward to meeting everyone next month.

well that was a pretty good first meet, should we do one every 2 weeks or once a month? I was thinking January 3rd around the same time 3:30pm at Boston's? Or January 20th at 3:30pm at Boston's? Posting pics soon. I would have drove with you guys but the time I got out of the mess in front of me you guys were gone, we need a better road than 190

Yeah, it was pretty good for a first meet. I thought it was kind of funny we had just as many BMWs as we had RX-8s though. I would have gone on the drive also, but we had to go get the kids. How was the drive anyway? My wife took a ton of pics. I will post some up either later tonight or tomorrow. I'm up for at least a monthy meet. I8U will be here visiting next month also, I'm sure he will come out and join us.

Sorry I could not make it guys. I was supposed to go up that way but my ex-wife threw me loop so I had to reschedule. Hopefully I can make the next one.

You said Jan 20th, but that is a Tuesday. How about Sunday Jan 18th. I say Sunday instead of Saturday cuz I8U will be here by then also. There were a couple other guys that were not able to make it to this one as well. Hopefully they can make it to the next one. 3:30 seemed to be a good time and Boston's sounds good to me too. There is plenty of parking out back to line up, but not really good for photo ops. I vote for passing the 3rd and waiting for the 18th at least this time around. We should get our monthly meets established first, then expand from there. What's everyone else's thoughts? If there are enough that want to meet on the 3rd also, I guess we could have like a mini meet or something.

Dan

So, the 18th at 3:30? Sounds good to me. I should be in town by then...21 hr drive from NC, should put me there late Sat night. See you guys then.

Oh, just some insight on having meets twice a month...don't do it. My group did this for just over a year and it started strong but soon just became the same 5 people showing up. We have since started holding them once a month and varying the location also, we through in some road trips and go for drives. We are very lucky to have Virginia International Raceway on our door step so, we make every opportunity to visit the track and watch as many races as we can. Just a thought for you guys, coming from a 180 member group from a across the state. NCRotaries.com if you guys get a chance to check it out.

That's some good info there, thanks for that. Once a month for planned meets and the occasional BBQ / install day-mod meet at someone's house / garage thrown in when necessary is what I am used to from other clubs.

Oh by the way Nic, I just talked to Lowell. He said he will be in town on the 18th as well and would love to come to our meet, (with his tC).

That's cool **** Dan, looking forward to it! Oh yeah, just another suggestion...move all this talk over to the Killeen/Fort Hood 8's thread. And make a new thread for when you hold a new meet. Keeps everything organized a little better.

So, just reviving the topic here, trying to see if we can get any more people for the 18th, 20th is a weekday as we stated. Boston's I'm assuming is still good for everyone? By the way I am fixing to buy a typhoon air intake from K&N if we want to have a special meet for that as well?

I don't know about a mod meet, (anyone else interested?), but I'll help you with your intake if you need it. Let me know.

As I8U stated for organization, here is the link for January's meet.
