you lucky bastards. i totally took for granted all the tracks in the area when i lived in texas. out here our track is shut down - and it really sucks not having that option.
50 bucks is just ridicously cheap. AWWWWWWWWWW - lucky!

I want to bring everyone up to date with the progress at ECR. As we are now in full construction mode to finish the track, we will have to implement the following:
1. People who want to bring groups of riders or drivers to ECR will have to pay a nominal fee of $50 for each driver/rider. These groups will be closely monitored for safety and strict etiquette rules will apply. This will be available to the end of April. Please remember to bring a valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
2. People who want to visit the track are always welcome, free of charge. Call for an appointment if you want a drive around ECR with a view towards membership, club event days or corporate/driver’s education activities.
3. As of May 1st , only members and pre-organized events will be allowed to run on the track.
We have worked hard over the last three months to make the track available to the many of you who have visited. We have enjoyed your company tremendously and applaud the overall enthusiasm, advice, and valuable insights. We must, however, now concentrate on the track development in order to meet our July schedule. We are in the process of constructing a multi-purpose building that will have a cafeteria, kitchen, restrooms and over 3,000 sq. ft. available for driver’s meetings, driver’s education and available space for all existing and upcoming members.
During the month of April, we will be working hard to finish the parking lot (7-8 acres), entry to the parking lot, hot pit and pit lane areas. In May, we will finish all site grading and run-off areas, to begin the installation of all necessary guardrails and tire barriers. This work will continue on into June with the installation of curbing around the track in order to prepare for the final coat of asphalt.
When the track is open in July, for members and events, we will be able to drive at race speed levels knowing that our safety precautions have been met to the best of all our abilities. We have the support of many sanctioned bodies such as SCCA, IMSA, PCA, AMA, CMRA, Grand Am and so on, in order to meet the required standard.
Again thanks to so many of you for your support, excitement and input. We know that everyone is as excited to get this track open as we are.
Sincerely,
David F. Cook
President

You guys should just call them and ask what they really mean. It's fairly vague. Doesn't say anything about experience or safety. Might just be allowing people to drive the track a reasonable speeds (50mph) like a parade lap.
Last I heard/saw ECR, there still wasn't anything like curbing around the track and the drop off from the paved area was a little severe in some places.
