Lost in Oklahoma
Hey all just thought I would shout to all the 8's. I live in Oklahoma but originally from Houston. I see about 4 other 8's in town and occasionally gt a wave here and there. I wonder if any are in this forum. I live in Bartlesville Oklahoma which is north of Tulsa. There was this one time (at band camp ) while I was at Walgreens and was going back to my car and noticed another 8 parked next to mine. A female got out as I was putting my things in the trunk. I looked and said "nice car" as I smiled. She replied" so is yours" as she smirked. Was kinda cool to talk to someone else with an 8 even for a couple words. Are there any meetings for Oklahoma crews? I would love to find a good rotary mechanic near me. I will be slowly ( more like at a stand still ) trying to customize my 8. For those in Barltesville, I am the Titanium grey metallic 8 with red neons in town. Hope to hear from somone and maybe get together for a club meeting or start one.

ConocoPhillips, perchance? I lived in Houston before and after living in Bartlesville. Is there still only one Viper in town, only driven on sundays to church, by Mr. Roberts?

Nah not with Phillips. Wifes father was with Phillips and is now retired. She is from Bartlesville; we just moved back here. I am originally from Houston and met her there. I was called a wife stealer from her ex-husband lol! But i was not fyi. I actually work for US Cellular and use to work for Cingular in Houston. I have seen a Viper on rare occasion and once even a Diablo.

Hey! finally a fellow bville 8 owner on the forum!, i live in bartlesville now, work for chevron phillips down at the technology center. I drive a blue 2005 rx8 with MS kit, there's at least 2 more blues, 2 blacks, and 2 TI in bville, maybe 1 yellow. none of which i've made contact with and none are on this site that i know of (until now). i've tried to get together with 8 owners in tulsa but there just isn't a good showing of support to do so. i know rx7 owners get together every week in tulsa but i haven't tried to meet up with them (don't have the time either) but i will be attending the rotary rendezvous in tulsa this may.
i see your car parked at the us cellular place whenever i drive by. if you need a good mechanic let me know...Jay's Auto in bville is a great bunch of guys and they have a certified Mazda mechanic on staff. they do all my maintenance work. send me a pm and we'll meet up sometime.
(and yes there is still that viper in town, i was driving behind him one day...i saw the diablo for the first time last week, i almost got in a wreck stareing at it!)

Yeah I know Dean, but I didn't know they had a Mazda Mech there. I was going to let them put my Greddy exhaust in. I ended up DIY they could not get me in for a week ( impatient or what). I used to get together with some guys I rode with when I had a bike. Now I just sit at work gazing out the window , I'm about to have my system installed at Mobile Magic since I want it done prefessional like. I can do it ghetto style but would rather thm do it lol. I have also registered to go to rotary rendezvous in May.

I've been wondering what's up with the OKC group-
Who moved? Who sold?
I still need to get my Sideskirts, rims, exhaust.. eventually turbo. Dental work is delaying the project

With the e-manage that GReddy shipped with I dyno'd at around 230whp at 7psi <untuned and running rich>
When I installed the Interceptor I, I dyno'd at about 260whp at 8psi , <untunned and running rich>. Since then I have leaned out the mixture using a WBO2 sensor and am running about 10psi. I have also removed my CAT and replaced it with a testpipe.
She pulls pretty hard now so I hope to be in the 290s next time I dyno.
No TOO serious issues yet. Just things like fouled plugs due to the richness of the stock e-manage (and Interceptor) tune, inconsistent idle problems (sometimes she dies). Nothing that can't be tuned out, or repaired by some of the fixes that other pioneers around here have discovered.
That said, it is so worth it!
