New Front End
Looks like State Farm is going to be receiving a call in the morning. I was driving down I-35 and hit a roll of carpet that some jack *** left, and took about a foot long section out of my bumper.

Ex- member.
Any plans to get a different bumper.... ex- mazdaspeed?
I've read of people somehow working it out with their insurance company to do this (after paying the deductible of course).
I'm sure the stock bumper is expensive and they just paid the difference for the other bumper.

It's tough, trust me I know, but it's not the end of the world. Call your insurance, make the claim and get the ball rolling. Now is the best time to look into the Grenade front end you were talking about......
And be thankful you weren't hurt.
Out of curiousity, how did you miss a roll of carpet on the highway?

Wait, How much is your deductible? How much would it be to just get a used bumper and match the color to yours. Or even better an aftermarket. Is it worth having that on your record, cuz you know they still see it as "you crashed it" Your premium might go up and it will take at least two years before that's off your record. Unfortunately, sometimes its better to just suck it up and pay yourself.

I thought it would have something to do with the speed at which you were traveling...
I'm not knocking you for hitting it. ****, I hit a tree - an inanimate object that was NOT in the road.

I decide to side step State Farm, and just go ahead with the Mazda Speed replica front end. I have already ordered the front bumper and fog light brackets, my paint and body guy told me that it will take him 2 days to prep and shoot the front so it should be installed before January 1st.

Very nice! so you can think of this whole thing as a forced upgrade! I was going to do the same if they said my bumper needed to be replaced but no cracks or anything so they just repainted it...darn!
