Story about the flywheel...well...
I decided it might be a good idea to let the gf drive the 8 cuz she currently has not car. So on Thanksgiving when she takes off she totally rides the clutch. I'm all thinking, she knows how to drive a standard, so wtf was that? Well, in early january, I'm leaving for work and I don't like the way the clutch sounds...as in, it sounds like it's slipping. So I get home that night and ask her to take a ride. I test it out real quick with her in the car. Get to about 15mph, throw it in 6th, hit the gas and, wow! look how high it revs without moving! Then I ask her to drive. Every goddamned turn, whether right or left, she rides the f'ing clutch. So I get back in the driver's seat and show her the difference in my clutch release v. hers. It was at that point she started to cry.
Called Keith up, told him about it, and set up an appointment. I asked him to call me to let me know how bad it was. So when they pulled the tranny and clutch off he called me and asked me what is blue, purple and round...my flywheel. It was machinable, though, so I didn't need to get a new flywheel.
Needless to say, I've offered the gf $100 to sit in the driver's seat with no keys in the ignition and she refuses. hehehe
