I'd like to meet up with you guys one of these days! I work every other weekend though so...kinda limited.

what about a meet up in baton rouge? or if people want to drive, here in Lafayette?

if nothing else, I know I'll be down in NOLA at the end of August for a fact. got a convention to run.

Well, not surprisingly, Paretti called me today to tell me that they aren't going to warranty the broken control arm because they say it was caused by collision damage. If you look at pic 108 (first pic), you can see there is no damage to the front bumper cover. So they claim that something must have been in the road, and got kicked up into my wheel well. Pics 103 and 108 (third and fourth pics) are the alleged collision damage that caused the lower control arm to break. See pic 105 (last pic) for the broken lower control arm.

What's really bad is in pic 108, you can see the spindle twisted/turned and hit the lower control arm when the tow truck attempted to load the car on the bed before taking the tire off and putting sled type devices under the car to get it on the bed.

I sent Keith (retired from Ray Brandt Mazda ) the pics attached and a few more, and he said it was a failure of the control arm caused by faulty metals and/or the front suspension having a lot of stress on it due to the fact that both rear shocks were blown. You know, the geometry of the suspension is thrown off because of the blown shocks.

I met with the tech and the service manager at Paretti and they are supposed to mail their pics and my pics to let Mazda USA determine whether there is collision damage. Let's see how this turns out.

Oh...the service department manager didn't know the rear shocks were blown. He also didn't know of the body changes to the 2009-2011 RX8. He asked if I installed the yellow lights on the side of the car...you know, the side marker lights right in back of the front wheel wells.

I don't think I could have had it towed all the way to Houma. Is Brian Harris Mazda any better than Paretti?

I have a feeling I'm going to be on the phone with Mazda N. America a lot in the next few days.

Let's see what Mazda N. America says. grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This almost makes me want to get rid of the car.

/edit: Does anyone have an angieslist.com membership? Wonder what the rating is for Paretti.

Ray Brandt isn't too bad, but not as good as others. Parreti is garbage though!!! Funny about him not knowing his own car models hehe..

Paretti is absolute garbage! I havent gone there in about 2-3 years, ive been going to Ray Brandt...even if i was to even consider buying another mazda for whatever reason i just wouldnt because of how shitty the Mazda service is in this town. I got into a huge argument with the manager at Paretti over the phone, after i was purposely left on hole for over an hr in the hopes I would hang up. I had some issues with my window, told Paretti there was an issue and they disagreed, they didnt want to go through the trouble of taking off the door panel. When my window completely failed i was out of warranty and guess what? they wanted nothing to do with it, even though when it was in warranty they "fixed" it. What the hell did they fix? Did they do anything to the car? Did they say they did just to get rid of me?

Anywho... If Yall wanna try to do another meet, let's pick a date/time. My boss went on vacation so I took off today, this Friday and the following Wednesday. After that I'll be back on my normal days off, Wednesday and Sundays. I'll probably go cruise the lakefront today just to see what's going on and get out my house.

I would go to Ray Brandt, but have heard they have also gone downhill recently. I agree. Probably not buying another Mazda because of the horrible service in town.
