They changed the oil pan, transmission pan, catalytic converter, fuel pump, radiator. When I picked it up it didn't really seem to be driving right. But I thought it was just some mental bs because I been stuck in a Camry. Then it killed on me twice. Then the second I get off the Williams on ramp the car stops accelerating in fourth gear at about forty and dies. Does anyone have an idea of what's wrong with my car?

Oh man all this dealer bad luck....

Maybe a loose battery terminal? It turns over?

Billy, I have no idea what is wrong from you explanation. It makes no sense. Does it turn over at all? Does it sound like you lost compression on a rotor?

Agree that there is some serious dealer bad luck going on in the GNO.

The seems like it wants to turn. It'll start to turn over but then it'll just die. I tryed to jump it before I called the tow truck but no luck. I did notice when it ran that when I stopped it vibrated alot in the front n it was hesitant to acelerate.... I'm not sure about the compression, how would I know if it has it?

You need a special compression tester for a rotory motor. Mazda will do the test for something like $80. I don't know what your issue could be but I may could figure it out given enough time. Probably something unplugged. Did they remove the engine at all? Is there any oil in the car now? Could be seized engine if it doesn't turn over. Did you try to push start it? Are you getting a blinking cel or a cel at all? If it doesn't turn over it could be a loose terminal like 1.3LOF said.

I don't think the engine was removed at all. I think they just put the new parts on. But before they gave it back they said they ran a compression test n it had compression. All the fluids in it are new and when it died all the indicator lights lit up. Before they gave it to me they couldn't get it to start so they sent it to Mazda n they put a new fuel pump in it. Like it'll turn for a second n die then all the lights will light up . I am thinking that the engine is finished. All I know at the moment is someone messed my car up n they are suppose to fix it. Oh yeah did I mention it was vibrating bad in the front of the car when I would stop. The temp gauge was in the middle like it was suppose to be n oil presure was about right

Still fighting in week 4. This is exhausting.

And my wife is not happy. She is now claiming to be a Mazda widow.

Pray we are dry the next few days. And not hot and humid.

I am on the 2007 Kaw ZX6R Kawi Green until Fremin Auto, who rocks, fixes everything. Then off to Ducote to do the rear shocks.

Of course the wife's CX-7 is also fun, but not as fun as the Kaw.

I should prolly garage the car and wait til I go to mechanic's school and win the lottery to drive the 8 as a daily.

I am sure the first apex seal that is blown will require all those records of filter purchases from Rosental plus all the oil purchases from autozone. And the crush ring washer orders.

Thank you, corporate, America, for making cars less fun. **** you Mazda. Maybe Toyota is funner.

No. Moved the car to Fremin's since Mazda is saying it is not a warranty issue and am forced to make an insurance claim. I will never let paretti work on my car.

I finally got my car back Wednesday! Everything seems to be working good... EXCEPT I noticed sometimes I feel a vibration from the muffler I think. Today I started n my boy standing about 15 feet away told me he could smell the exhaust. Are the serious issues?.... Another thing I tried to look at the pipes n catalytic converter n noticed they welded the cat on. Isn't the 8's cat a bolt on?

Cat is bolt on. Smelling exhaust is not an issue when it is cold.

Anyone else have input?

The cat is bolt on, but it's a long pipe that includes the resonator. It's very hard to see the rear flange without jacking the car up.

The rattling could be your cat. It could be failing on its own or might have been damaged. Also, very bad engine mounts could cause a rattle.

Yeah it's real hard to see under the car. .. they replaced the cat but I'm not a hundred 100 percent sure but it looks like they welded the new one on. The rattle seems like it's coming from exhaust... when my boy smelt the exhaust it wasn't a cold start

The rear of the actual cat will be welded. The rear flange sits on top a cross support near the gas tank, after the resonator. Go on ebay and look at bolt on cats, it'll make sense then.

About 3secs after every time you start your car it does this weird fuel dump, and the a/f's drop to below 11's for a moment, that could be what you're smelling.

It could be rattling just how the exhaust is sitting. Could be rattling against the frame. To adjust it would need to be loosened and adjusted and tightened back down. Mine rattles slightly but not enough to really notice or bother.

Mine leaks...

But I'm trying my hardest to wait to fix all the small issues now that I'm saving up for a sexy new engine.
