Still here!

Hey folks.

Haven't been around much since the low turnout at LFM2.

I feel your pain on the gas price. I just bought a used civic, to get that 40mpg plus the ability to use low octane gas.

Unfortuatly I make the gasoline and still don't get a break on that $4 a gallon.

BTW, anyone interested in a set of Plasma Coils. The have only about 5k miles on them and work great. The multispark really makes for smooth acceleration, and install is a POC, since they fit just like the OEM Coils.

I'm also thinking of getting rid of my AccessPort. I really can't take full advantage of it with the mellow mods I've done. It is pretty slick, and adds about as much power as the Racing Beat Flash, but without going turbo or a serious exhaust, it just isn't worth it to me. (It's nice to not be bugged by the CEL for the rear O2 though)

Later Gaters.

I bought a 2004 Suzuki GS500 over the weekend. Supposedly gets over 60 mpg.

mazda is awesome

hey, i haven't posted here in a while, simply because i had nothing to add.. but now, apparently, i have a little to add

i got a letter from Mazda North America today. (pimps)

Apparently, they're starting a new program and extending warranties on rotary engines for years 2004-2008 to 100,000 miles, and my car was included.

I just wanted to give props to Mazda. I follow the economy somewhat closely, and as many of you probably know, the economy isn't kicking *** right now. The car companies are losing sales left and right, and I thought it was awesome for Mazda to go out of their way to hook up the warranty out of the blue.

Maybe I live under a rock, smoke too m.. i mean, maybe everybody knows about this, but I never heard one single thing about it. I did hear they extended the warranties for the powertrain to 60,000, but never the motor..

Anyway, that's it.. everyone keep pimpin

Yeah I got that letter too.

Thing is Mazda is Japanese and there economy is better then ours so I'm guessing that is why they can offer the warranty to us. I'm gonna try and get it if I can come up with the funds.

Skwidd, let me know if ya ever want to ride... this usually a group of us that rides on various nights of the week. Send me a PM if your interested.

Wait, does this warranty cost money or something? lol

Speaking of riding, it doesn't make any sense why when I drive down Gause nowadays, I'm seein like 2 identical titanium rx-8's pimping.. and we never ride.

If anybody ever decides to take the rx-8's for a ride, let me know, cuz it's summer and I'm down.. a bunch of rx-8's ridin down the street would feel tight, right?

I'd love to ride with you guys, but the bike is out of commission until I can get it fixed.

Second f'ing day/night I have it, some 16 year old kid pulls out of a u-turn on W. Esplanade and cuts me off. I pretty much anticipated it because he almost pulled out on the bike ahead of me. I almost managed to get the bike stopped, but the kid took a right turn onto a side street. I locked up the rear wheel, took the turn with him, but couldn't turn sharp enough so I made the turn while pretty much leaning on his car. He panics, turns away from me and I fall.

I had to be going only about 5mpg when I went down. Lost my rear view mirrors, handle bars are slightly bent, clutch lever is broke (about 1/3 of it snapped off), crankcase cover is scratched, fairing is scrathed, cowl is scratched, and I have some really nice road rash on my left arm and left knee. I didn't break any body parts, so I'm happy about that.

The kid's whole family rides bikes, so I think he's freaked and probably catching a lot of flack from his family. His dad told me to get an estimate and he'll pay to have the bike fixed. I just need to either get some mirrors so I can get it to a dealership to get an estimate, or take it apart and figure out everything that needs to be replaced. Oh...and I'm a little hesitant to take it out on the road right now, for obvious reasons.

Everyone, Keith asked me to let you know that Ducote Mazda is no more. He is now at Ray Brandt Mazda. Ray Bradt bought the majority of the assets of Ducote Mazda.

The new address is 1884 West Bank Expressway. You can reach him at (504) 363-1407.

Call him when you get a chance as he does not have his old customer list.

This dealership is supposed to be much better than Ducote, which we all know if 1000x better than Paretti.

We used to get together a little more and the forum was more active, but RXH8TED scared all the girls away.

glad to hear somebody bought out ducote. they were horrible to deal with. In fact I just got our car out the shop yesterday from paretti. They are much better than dealing with ducote.

tell your friend that owns "on the rocks" that he needs a website instead of myspace hehe..

$400 is the going rate for my services and i have past work as references

i would have actually tried to come out there if i read that message in time, i was in new orleans anyway

if something comes up.. if anybody has a crawfish boil, a shrimp boil, a shrimp fry, a steak fry, a french fry fry, a carwash extravaganza, a club opening event, a supermarket parking lot throwdown, consider me in

i'm that bored. it's summer.

Well I don't rem talkin to john about it- and when didn't i respond to you on myspace? Only one from our group that really msgs me on myspace is NightmareX. Everyone else is random people not from 'round here sep that one guy from MS we met at LFM1 that drives an FD now. Sorry if so. And- in skwidd's defense, maybe he only had the one cell I used with RH before I quit a while back. Then again- things were crazy hectic for me for a while with starting the new biz, trying to quit and stay gone from RH and my real estate drama. ??? I guess Mike & Roger didn't know about it either bc I've spoken with and seen them. We've all been getting those "The RX8Club.com misses you" emails, lol.

Anyhoo- seems we've all lost touch. How are things? Hope everyone is good.
I hear the rotary scene at this years LFM bombed. Sucks.

Yea, it bombed...... me and skwidd tried to put somehting togeather but the 7 guys were wayyyy too disorganized. And it ened up being last minute before anyone commited to meeting up...was too late for me at that point....=/

On the lighter note. I met Steve Khann from gotham racing recently......super cool guy....and drives a ******* GORGEOUS 7........

Other than that, everythings been good.....just been hella buisy. Work went through the usual slow season....but now has gotten buisy to point of chaos....lol
