What's up Monique? Yeah, that was a good run. So, you got the RB flash huh? That's awesome. I guess you'll kick my *** on I-10 now huh? I was thinking about getting it too along with a RP supercat. Is it worth it? Have you gotten a chance to run against any other cars to see how much faster you've gotten? Unfortunately for me, my car is at Ducote right now because it wouldn't start yesterday. I tried jumping it but that didn't work. I think its the crappy-*** coils again. I've already had them replaced once! Honestly, this car is starting to scare me a little bit. I don't know if being out of warranty is such a good thing

Hey Dominic-
Man I love the flash, def worth it! Sorry your 8's in the shop. Is it flooded? Can't be huh? You've had yours as long as I've had mine. I hope everything turns out ok. I'm almost out of warranty. I have like 58k mi so I'm close. I've never had a car this long before bc I get bored with them. But I'm still lovin' my 8! I don't worry too much about the warranty bc Ducote treats me well and since I've been the only owner I feel confident. I've never really had an serious issues either though. Ed's taking care of you, I hear. Next time go straight to Keith. Ed's good of course but umm yeah see Keith. Anyway I hope everything turns out ok. How far out of warranty are you? Have you considered buying an extended warranty?

Yo John-
Doooo we have a tranny yet???

And Roger-
I've got an eye out for you!
Andouille (spelling?), clever... lmao.

Tranny. hehe.

Sorry.

Ummm...Paretti got it in today. I called them around 4:30 to get a status report and they said it arrived today, that the mechanic was rebuilding an engine, that he would probably get to it tomorrow (wednesday) and I could probably (not guaranteed) pick it up thursday.

Wow, is everyone in the avatar changing mood?

Monique- not everyone gets the super treatment like you!

skwidd- You don't sound too excited about it coming in today. Maybe because they make promises they can't keep? Hope everything turns out okay.

CASANOVA-

Ps. My brother just went to Paretti today to compare prices with Ducote on the fully loaded CX-7. Oddly enough, Paretti had the better markdown price.

Here ya go Tony. I'll let you use a picture of "KILLA" for your avatar...

Super treatment? Not me... kay maybe. How much you need me to get that CX-7 for? Haha. Mike (astrox) gets super treatment, too. 'Cause we're super customers! In fact, the CX-7 was brought to us to check out when they got the first one, huh Mike?

Everyone, keep your fingers crossed for skwidd's tranny today!!!

Yeah, Ed is working on it. He kind of pissed me off because he told me at least three times that the work would not be covered under warranty if it was flooded. I told him, "Dude its not flooded. I own a 2004 and I know ALL about flooding." There used to be a guy named Steve who I dealt with before the storm. He was really cool. I guess he's not there anymore. Actually I am still within my warranty period. I only have 40,000 miles. I hope they can get it done today. Then I can look into the high flow cat and flash.

Flooding isn't covered under warranty? WTF? Did you get the updated plugs, starter, battery, etc?

I'm excited, I've just accepted the fact that I have no control over the situation and think it best not to make waves by insisting. And I'm taking their word that most of the delay was because the transmission didn't ship out as quickly as was expected. Doesn't matter. I'm getting a new transmission.

If I have it back by the weekend, I'll be stoked. I've been dying to polish and wax it since the past few months in Dallas have not been conducive to washing and waxing a car.

Yeah- Dominic, did you get the new & improved plugs, battery & starter? I did when Delta World Tire flooded mine some time ago. And Steve didn't work at Ducote for long. I preferred Keith over him too.

John- That's a good attitude. I mean, what more can ya do anyway? Besides not go there in the future? I'm sure they'll have it to you by the weekend. If not... tell me & I'll go kick some a**. lol. I can't wait to do my full fledged Zaino in May, clay bar & all! I have some fresh paint so imma wait til then. I'm also gonna have my cuz hook me up with the 3M clear bra/protection film.

All- Ducote will get my car tomorrow to remove my fish tank. I... I... I... mean change out my tail lamp. I'm gonna let them install my REVi intake while it's there as well. Yaay!

I put one of those Chinese fighting fish in mine. He lived in the fishtank, I mean, tail lamp for a week.

They are out road testing it, so I'll find out soon what's going on.

According to him, no it isn't. I'm assuming its a Mazda policy now. I have the updated plugs because the originals were fouled. I've already had the battery replaced a while ago, but I don't think it was an "improved" version and I still have the original starter. Were these upgrades only performed if you flooded your engine? Anyways, I spoke with Keith at Ducote. This is my first time dealing with him and he seems as cool as Monique says he is. It turns out that it was my throttle-body! The electronic actuator failed, so they're replacing it under warranty and I'll have it back tomorrow. I can't wait to give back the Hyundai Sonata that I'm in.

Then you're cool. I would ask about the upgraded starter if I were you.

OK...my 8 is back together and they test drove it today. The service manager at Paretti said he wanted to have the shop foreman look at it tomorrow morning and make sure everything is happy, and I can probably pick it up at lunch.

I can't wait to give back the Hyundai Sonata that I'm in. I guess Hyundai Sonatas are the new Ford Taurus.

Haha, I was given the choice between a Ford Taurus and a Sonata. I chose the Sonata without hesitating...

Hye, Monique...where do you work in Elmwood? When I get my car back today, I'll drive by and do some doughnuts in the parking lot.

Just kidding.

Ice Cold: My loaner is an Elantra. I thought it was a Sonata. I guess those are two cars Monique can't snub, at least for the rest of today. ;p

I doubt I can make it. I'm hoping to grab the car at lunch and get back to work quickly.

And hopefully they didn't wash the car. I'm still trying to tackle that swirl problem, and the guys who wash cars at the dealership usually don't help eliminate swirls.

Can I cuss on this forums? Well, regardless, just imagine the F-word written in 72 point font, in caps, because that's me yelling.

Paretti was supposed to call me at lunch and let me know wtf is up with my car. I even spoke with Kenny this morning. It's now almost 2 PM and I have no heard anything. So I called. Kenny is out at lunch and my car is not ready. So I don't know wtf is up and had lunch planned around getting the car.

Code:
Dear Mazda Customer Assistance,

I am writing to tell you about my experience with Paretti Mazda's Service Department in

That's terrible!

I do think MNAO should def hear about this one. Be on the look out for your survey form. Those guys sound really unprofessional just with the things they've said on the phone. My last phone conversation with them alone is why I've never gone back. The actual service I received before that wasn't anything to write home about either. Sorry you have to put up with this. Hopefully you'll get your car back soom & never have to deal with them again. It may be a logistical inconvenience for you to use Ducote but at least that's all you'll have to deal with.

Paretti called a little bit before 3PM. I just got back with the car. It feels so good to be back in my own car. hehe. One thing I'm REALLY happy about is it feels so much better shifting from 1st to 2nd.

Yes, I think I'm complaining to Mazda Customer Service. I'm happy right now that I have the car, but earlier I was so freaking pissed, mostly because I told them I needed to plan my day and they completely inconvenienced me by not communicating. Of course they were very nice when I got there, but I'm glad I kept a log of things that happened since I dropped the car off until now. I'm just going to send that to MNAO.

Oh...and they washed the car. It looks so swirly. I need to buff it out ASAP. (yes, I know. completely and utterly ****.)

John- I'm relieved that you finally have your car back and I'm super glad that the repairs were apparently successful! And I don't think you're ****; you're an 8 owner!

Dominic- Keith just called me from his cell to ask that I let you know your starter was in fact changed in March of 2006. He left work early today, before you got there to pick up your car and thus wasn't able to tell you himself.

Thanks Monique. You've definitely got some pull huh? I picked it up and all was fine until this morning...the engine light is on again. I'm going to drive it around today to see if it clears up. Maybe the computer has to readjust some settings. I will definitely be dealing strictly with Keith from now on. If I call and Ed answers, I'll just hang up and try back later. This guy is an ***. I've already mentioned how he kept trying to scare me into thinking that this work wouldn't be covered under warranty. He also told me that my rental car may not be covered for the first day or so until they could get around to looking at my car. Mainly because I didn't have an appointment and the work may not be under warranty. Appointment...the damn car broke down and should be covered under warranty. Well, yesterday when I returned my car to Hertz, the lady called the dealership to ask them whether or not my rental car would in fact be covered and that they were bringing me there shortly. Ed told the lady he didn't know and she needs to talk to Keith, but she better hurry up because they close at 6 and I won't be able to get my car if we're late. He must have said it in a very nasty manner, because the Hertz employee took offense to it. So, we finally get there at 5:59 and I wait for him to come into the office. He comes in and just tells me to go to the counter to sign the paperwork. He doesn't tell me what they had done or to bring it back in if I have any more problems, just no customer service at all. On top of that, I get the car back with mud and dirt on my door sill, speaker grill, carpet, console. I see Skwidd had problems with Paretti, but when I brought my car there for the last recall, they were great. They cleaned the interior and exterior of my car also. I guess its a crapshoot when going to the dealer...unless you're Monique

I think you just need to find someone you can work with. Talk to Keith and let him know of the issues you had and he seems to be the type of person that will resolve the issues.

Ryan at Paretti was kind of the same way, but I knew the transmission was out, so **** 'em with their rental might not be covered crap. Kenny, at Paretti, the service manager, is the biggest douche in the universe. Plus, I was additionally pissed that they recommended a new clutch and tried to charge me retail for the parts.

Ryan was completely aloof, but I think he was probably overwhelmed. Still no excuse. Kenny is just...Paretti has forgotten the lost art of customer service.

Although the interior of my car is clean, and so is the exterior (which sucks because I can see the swirls...UGH! And I don't have the time until sunday to buff it out).

Call Keith and let him know Ed is an ***. I don't care what type of customer service you are in, you should always be nice. Just be nice. Very simple. Don't bring your personal problems to work.

Oh, Monique. Kenny told Keith that he was going to make everything right with me, since Keith told Kenny I was aggravated with their service. I expected some vouchers for oil changes. Instead, I got nothing. I can't wait until their customer follow-up people call me.
