Damn...Finally...Monique posted. I was waiting. I can paste now that the Queen of New Orleans has posted.
Tony, dude, saw the car on friday, when I picked up some parts. I think Keith is going to fix it properly. Also, thanks for giving me the opportunity to see what an 8 looks like with the inside taken out. ;p

REVi
So,
I took the plunge... Installed the full REVi intake. Even after the recent flooding issues. I must say...WOW I love it. Very nice quiet operation at low throttle. Awesome throaty growl when you really get on it. When you hit about 6500 and the second set of intake runners opens up....GROWL. Sound great.
Now for the butt dyno. Bottom end...no change to maybe a little less torque. Midrange...decent improvement....Top End Great extra punch.
Course I have the HKS Ignition and the Ram Air....
When I first installed the new REVi, the car ran kinda dumpy for a few days, but now the ECU has adjusted the mixture according to the extra air that the intake allows. Runs very nice now.
Idle didn't really change...Mine was kinda bumpy to begin with. It's still about the same...maybe a little smoother.
So, here it is:
Oh did I mention the Greddy bypass plate up front? Doesn't really do much more than the black plastic, but looks cool. Also, no hood prop is cool.
Last step is the exhaust.....just too many choices. I like Monique's RB, but Rogers Greddy is sweet as well. Anyone heard a TurboXS??
Anyways, hope all is well with everyone....good luck to Monique and Toni....
See yahs on the asphalt.

Ok.. for you insurance know-it-alls, I thought that when water gets into the vehicle then the vehicle would be total loss due to flooding.

So my car fired up after changing out the plugs but didn't accelerate. Once the car was running, the exhaust was shooting out water like a hose... I figured water got into the throttle body and the mass air flow.
Hopefully everything turns out right....=T
On the side note, my lil bro just got an 06 rsx-s. Just installed an exhaust on his car and he was happy. Pictures will come as soon as my car is done..

ok well, heres some news for you guys.
My best friend drives a yellow 2004 RX8. Sunday the car stops running right. We had to hold it at 5k just to idle in neutral, and soon as u let off the gas it died. I told him it was his cat. converter judging by the sound. So he calls roadside assistance, and go figure they jew him by making him send it to hammond claiming its 10 miles closer than paretti (to mandeville.....Bullshit). Been there all week, so we called yesterday. They told us that his cat was Fucked, and that caused one of his rotors to break down. Then they told us that, they are waiting for the mazda rep. to come by, because they think this was caused by his aftermarket intake *AEM CAI, guy who owned the car before him put it on* and they need him to decide weather or not it will be warrentied or not. They claim that the intake caused it to run to rich, which made the cat clog and the rotor to breakdown. yeeeaaaaaaaaarrrrrriiiigggghthhhttttttt
So to make it short:
cat = cloged = cause rotor 1 to break < caused by cold air intake..........
is it me or does this not make any sense to you guys to. It sounds like typical dealer BULLSHIT to me cause they don't wanna fix their own problems especialy on this lemon of a car *yea its been in the shop ALOT*

Wow.... That sounds like total BULL! That dealership just doesn't want to deal with the problem. Ducote has been wonders for me.
As a matter of fact, I get to pick up my car TODAY!!
How many miles does your friend have on the cat? And how long did he drive on it while it was messed up?
That CAI bull shouldn't cause any car to run rich, it just simply pulls in colder air allowing the motor to breathe better.
In summary, should bring it to another dealership. Tell your friend GL with that.

whoo your getting your car back finally hehe. grats.
The cat has less than 15k on it *its the 2nd one, it was changed once before he got the car* and from what we could tell, it just suddenly clogged. everything was like normal, and suddenly when we were on the way to his gf's house it just suddenly clogged up and the car died. Luckily we managed to start it back up and play with it enough to get it out of traffic. So as far how far he drove on it, maybe 100 yards. But it might have been partialy messed up before this happened and we just didn't know. I'll willing to say something in the cat wassn't welded good and just broke off all of a sudden.
As far as the CAI goes...it would actualy make the engine run leaner, which is a good thing for our motor. Rotory engines are designed to run leaner than a normal piston driven engine.
