New Texas Plate Law

Just got the message below from my dealer (World Car Mazda in San Antonio). Just thought other Texas drivers would be interested:

This courtesy message is for all our World Car Auto Club members.



A recently law relating to license plates was passed making it illegal to: “add reflective material, lights, emblems or anything else that changes the color of the license plate or makes it difficult to read the letters on the license plate. The name of the state where the vehicle is registered must be visible.” Fines for violation of this law will average $146 per license plate frame. (Senate Bill 439)



Because of this new law, several automotive license plate frames are illegal or in question. We urge you to remove the World Car license plate frames from your vehicle.



World Car is currently modifying our license plate frames to comply with this law. We will notify you when we have completed this process and new frames will be made available to you.
