If someone wants to set up a meet, then do so. If you want to have a party at your house and only invite a few folks, do so. Don't get all pissy and butt hurt when you're not invited to someone's small gathering.

In my defense, I've tried setting up a meet...I even constantly post about getting the group to meet at cobb and cars & coffee...Unfortunately, if it isn't you or thomas setting it up, for some reason the meet isn't taken seriously...The problem is that alot of members rely on you guys...So when I make my attempts, they're ignored :/

contrary to what you seem to think, this is not a proper car club. it WAS a group of close friends who happen to drive the same thing.
i dont tell every single one of my friends every time i go to hang out with just a few. you are blowing this wayyy out of proportion.

no. the problem is this is a very reserved group. and the majority of this group is fairly mature and doesnt want to mingle with the trash that typically goes to those types of meets.

That has nothing to do with going as a group, and enjoying great automotive engineering...I really enjoy Cars and Coffee...I know plenty of great people who go.
How am I blowing anything out of proportion?...I believe I said it was understandable to want a private event...I think you read comments that weren't mine....

Nah I contemplating about deleting this "lounge" thats filled with "active" members... hell even the SARX members post more on this lounge than our own members.
I am angry because I am enthusiastic about this car
I love my RX8, and id like to be around members that feel the same way. Now if you dont want to be active or feel the same way about the car anymore, fine, no problem with me, but then realize if the end goal is to still "recruit" new members and to stay friends with the old members that are still active DONT plan secret meets with a few of the members and dont tell anyone about it because now you've done 2 things.
A. Reduced the chances at Getting new people/recruits (which is apparently the entire point of the Texas 8, to get more people active, despite the fact that during the Texas 8 is the ONLY time most of Y'all, and you know who you are, are actually active.
B. Pissed off the other select members that werent told about it that actually are active.
Creto Im not trying to be a "Tough Guy" or trying to get my E-PEEN nice and big...
Im merely an active member who wants people to be active, who wants people to be enthusiastic about their car, not someone who USED to be active and still thinks he is. Sure Creto, call me out. Im not a douche. Im an actual member of this community that helps and contributes. I actually want more meets. I want an actual local crew, not posers and people who used to be.
Like I said before Creto, if you wanted to attract new members and people, if that was your TRUE Intention (like you always say you do) why create a meet twice to only a few select members? Maybe if you posted the meet out in the open where EVERYONE could see then we would attract more members... Your a smart guy right? But Obviously I have offended your Creto because im trying to be a "internet tough guy". No actually im not, thats actually Thomas.
Please. If any new member even gets a chance to read this and wants to come to a meet to learn more about this car then send me or Sheena (lta_ds_fs7) a PM and im sure we'll send ya our cell # or friend ya on facebook or atleast get something going...
And Nick... lol, you make me laugh... haha

1. I am still enthusiastic about the car
2. school and work make it difficult to attend regular meets
3. I stopped surfing the forum regularly to avoid you and your diatribes and your bullshit!

This is the reason I do not post here, The "lounge" is dead and has been unless it is to rant or beat Brandon-blue up. This is why GARX8club created their own website, because waddling through 40 pages of an email chain is a bit redonk IMO, but what do I know. I know I do not seem very active with you guys, because I do not see anything that is posted up until after the event/fact.
I'm with Sheena on this, Ask her, you can call me up and I'm ready to go out within 15 mins. I understand people have other responsibilities, but it is not like I am some 16 year old sitting at home with nothing to do (I'm 30, but would rather hang out with other Rotary owners) But I'm not going to sit around on a dead forum and wait for something to come along. There is NO regular schedule with the NTX/DFW group which is why I have stuck with DFWMazdas.

As for wading through 40 pages of a lounge post, isn't that the point of a lounge post? Just random crap. The only reason to read through 40 pages of it is if you're really bored, because there's not any useful information here.
The really sad part is, before all this bs today, I was going to post up a regular meet to start back up next week, however, after this crap, I really don't have the desire to.

So being enthusiastic makes you angry. Not quite the same parallel I would have drawn.
I don't recall ever saying my entire intent here is to recruit people. And the entire point of the Texas 8 has nothing to do with recruiting people. It has everything to do with apple ice cream and the drunken crow path to get there. If 10 people show up, fine. If 50 people show up, fine.
You say some of us only seem active around the Texas 8, then maybe you should be happy we are, because in all likelihood, that would go the way of the regular meet too, if the world is so dependent on Thomas and me setting up meets. I fail to see how on one hand you complain that we're not active, and then on the other, you complain that we're not setting up meets. STEP UP.
As to private events, I suppose you invite everyone you know to partake in everything you do? Yes, I set up the Ozark trip. This "secret" trip, is so secret, that it gets posted on facebook and I make shirts. Do I invite everyone? No, because I am not doing it as a club event. I do it as something I enjoy and can enjoy.
Unlike most people who attend the Texas 8, I don't get to fully enjoy myself (Thomas and Scott know what I'm talking about). So, as a result, I take my own separate trip to Arkansas. I invite a couple of folks that I don't have to worry about (because, yes, as the leader during the Texas 8, I have to be concerned about every vehicle behind me, and the unknown/unseen in front of me). Put quite simply, it's a purely selfish, self indulging trip.
If you want to set up a private trip to Arkansas, be my guest. If you want to set up a public trip, go for it. But I didn't see you get butt-hurt when Jimmy went up there in October and didn't invite you (for that matter, he didn't invite me either, but I'm not butt-hurt over it).
I called you out for getting butt-hurt for not being invited, not because of your activity level, or mine. People's lives go in phases. If you want to be active and host meets, THEN DO SO! Set them up regularly. Sometimes people attend, other times people don't. I remember a time in 2007 that a meet consisted of myself and Sam (who is still probably chasing women 20+ years older than he is). It happens.
I don't recall ever saying my "TRUE Intention" was to attract new members. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to new blood, but if my "TRUE Intention" was to attract new members, then I'd have rx8club business cards to put on 8's, and i'd have an rx8club sticker on my 8.

People, people, people...This is getting entirely out of hand...I don't think anybody should be getting offended over anything.
Yes, it is perfectly acceptable to have private events.
Also, I'm sure we can all agree that people's lives change...Some may have grown bored with the group...Some may be too busy...Others may have different priorities...All of this is perfectly ok...Everybody needs to understand and accept it.
Having said that, a new lounge is going to be created since this one is basically dead and full of hate...This will not exclude anybody, but hopefully it will be a fresh start and bring in new people...If you would like to participate in it, great...If not, then I hope you still scan it for info come out to any meets which will be scheduled in the future once we build up numbers again.
The first meet I ever attended was probably the best one I've ever experienced...Hopefully we build the group back up like that again.
