Im glad you guys agree for once??? haha , and I can see both sides of the discussion. unfortunately Thomas picked a unrealiable car to be his DD, lol ive tried my hardest at preventing this very thing that happened to my car from happening.

I like to try to see if I can fix it, I dont want people touching my car or letting it out of my sight, lol I even got the Tow Truck guy to tow it to my garage so it doesnt get dirty because I cleaned my car before it stalled and died on me.

At anyrate the feeling of having someone who knows what their doing helping you figure out whats wrong with your car feels so much better than handing your car off like you dont care about it plus Nick is right, I do have alot of mods that my dealer probably wouldnt have a problem with but since my car isnt starting they would immediately blame the BHR ignition system and at this point I havent comfirmed if thats it but I have my doubts since its literally brand new so. Id hate to have the dealer call Charles Hill and have a discussion over which igntion system is better...

But we will see what happens, If anyone would like to come over to just check out the situation around 5 you can. Its at my house PM or text me if you want the address.

Well we dont completely agree on the 8 being unrealiable. The only time that could have been bad was when it got a new engine, but even then the dealership gave me a rental so I still had a car. I know the series I engines arent the best, but I dont really think the 8 is that unreliable. Course I've never been left on the side of the road either :P

So I lost compression and one rotor is out. My CAT is also gone, I got my car started yesterday and pieces of my CAT started shooting out along with massive amounts of smoke. So new engine and CAT in my future.

Off Topic of Halloween but I called my tech today, No Compression basically in the front rotor but it would still start. Awaiting MNAO to give the it the Green light for a new engine but Michael Rhea (my Service Manager) wasnt worried about it. New CAT as well...

Sigh... finally I should have my baby back in a week or so, I hate driving the Miata. Its a great car but I dont fit and its a automatic. I cant wait to row through those gears again.

Initial break-in oil will be conventional haha but as soon as I reach 600-800 miles or the oil light pops up im doing a oil change and putting my good ole' Royal Purple 5W-30 in her with a RP Oil Filter as well.

Other than that I was just keeping yall posted on whats going on...

^^^ No joke, having to remove my REmedy Water Pump and Thermostat as well as my BHR ignition system... sigh, and now I will have to reinstall it all as soon as I get my car back. It shouldnt take me that long to install it all because I have done this like 2-3 times now. Practice makes perfect right? If anyone wants to stop by and talk or help let me know and ill toss you my address haha, I love company...

Lol, I talked to the original owner today, we both were stumped at how my engine failed at 47000 miles, he purposely waited till almost the 06's came out so Mazda could fix the problem with the engine failures with a reflash etc. I honestly think my CAT started to clog and that caused me to lose compression, but the whole engine failure is still a mystery. And yeah I was running RP, the original owner ran it since initial oil break-in so... This engine failure is a mystery

In my opinion, having meticulously maintained two motors that still died prematurely.

It's not a mystery, if you are not premixing every tank at 1oz per gallon and using the SOHN, then don't plan on keeping your engine for more than 50-75k. unless of course you drive your car once a week like a granny, then you will probably never know you are low on compression.

Personally, I stay away from extended redlines and shift before the beep at 8400k (good box) or so. That whole redline a day **** is BS. Now if this motor fails then I give up, because it has never been driven cold, never had a cat, and has BHR ignition, SOHN, and has been premixed since day one.
