[quote=9krpmrx8;3844453]Same flange I believe but make sure your turbo is positioned correctly. Also are you looking for a top mount manifold or side mount Greddy type?[/quote
a top mount would be sweet since we've already moved the battery to the trunk for that reason but at this point, either would work

Have you planned this out man? The difference between a top mount and a side mount are way more than just turbo positioning. You cannot just throw any old T3 on there. The flange may be the same but the hot side and cold side could be totally wrong. It sounds like you may be getting in over your head.

we're startin to realize that lol...i know for sure the turbo we have will fit a top mount set-up...im guessing from what you're sayin, our turbo won't fit a side mount. we're thinkin about just forgetting this whole project and selling what we have so far. we just wanna run about 8 psi...would we need bigger injectors as well as a higher flow fuel pump?

Well, the issue is MAF placement, turbo position, and some other things. With the Greddy kit, no injectors upgrade would be needed for 8psi. Do you have a kit? If so, what kit? A custom kit can be done and if done right, it is the way to go. But a FI venture takes a lot of research (and money to be done right) and each build is different.

A custom kit is what we were leaning towards..we've already purchased a kit which includes: turbo, intercooler, bov, wastegate, oil catch can, boost controller, all the necessary piping and a turbo timer. We've also bought the inlet flange, downpipe flange, and a oil sandwich plate. I think the only thing missing is a manifold, and downpipe which i was hoping to fabricate myself. We are totally new to the whole rotary thing but very mechanically inclined, any help / info is very much appreciated.
What kit did you purchase? That would help me to determine what direction to point you in. If it's the Greddy kit then it will be fairly straight forward. But whether it is a top mount or side mount will affect your tuning options. And a turbo kit is only as good as it's tune.

Ouch, so you will have to get all new piping, etc. You probably have cheap Chinese turbo as well. I would steer clear man, sounds like a nightmare unless you have disposable funds set aside for fab work, couplers, engine management, fuel pump, etc.

Wassup dude, sorry to hear that. You get it all sorted out? I haven't heard jack **** about the Texas 8. I have been asked to help out with the Texas mazda meet over at mazdas247.com but I have decided if those guys are serious or not and I don't wanna waste my time.

For the most part. I got new motor mounts installed this past weekend, but now were looking into this noise the motor is emitting. Sounds like you can hear the rotors a lot more...like a knocking sound. I read to check plugs, wires, and ssv (but engine light should be on if this was case). I also have a constant radiator fluid light....love the car, hate the problems haha.

Ok well was very unhappy with Chargespeed USA. Got a refund and think its time for some coil overs! So will be selling my Progress springs soon.

Think the 2 piece rotors are something we can take care of during a mod day? I found the rotor ring replacements that I need but can't find info on the proper method for assembling the hat and rings. The company that offers the kit for the S4 (and the place I'm getting the new rings) said there's a specific pattern and torque sequence so that's what I'm trying to find. It seems like it would be a fairly simple process but definitely don't want to mess something that important up lol.

The torque specs would be nice but the tightening sequences is probably just a start pattern like wheels. Should be any easy job barring we do not run into any rust.

Ill talk with Thomas and Steve about the Texas 8, Steve has moved to Waco and is currently selling his 8 for another new one, or atleast trying to so hes preoccupied right now. Thomas just had a child a few months ago and recently got a Series II Rx8 as well. So lots have been going on for both of them. Our route guy Brandon (lol) has been kinda busy and MIA on the forums so :/
I will talk to them and see whats up.
Oh and yay my Low Oil sensor is going out WTF?!?!? Already? jeeze, I just got this engine 2k miles ago... sigh
