I think all of them sound the same except for my annoyingly loud RP/Hi-Power combo.

once you start welding on custom resonators and high flow cats the game changes a bit.

In my experience it also changes a bit. The Turbo XS sounded great at first but has become raspy. The HKS was loud at WOT and seemed to get louder over time, but sounded better than the others at cruise, idle, etc.

when I installed my header my cruise drone reduced dramatically. Also it is wrapped so I'm sure that helps out.

So........

****. I think I inadvertently bought something from Brice. To save about $6.00 I ordered the Prosport premium gauge on Ebay instead of direct from Prosport.

Look at what my paypal receipt says:

Hello Scott Redmond,

You sent a payment of $75.00 USD to performancewarehouse-direct (rx8sales@fluidmotorsports.com)
Thanks for using PayPal. To see all the transaction details, log in to your PayPal account.
It may take a few moments for this transaction to appear in your account.

What are the odds.......................Pisses me off.

Well, then i got this email....

Scott

I am currently out of stock of the peak/warn gauge. I do have the standard performance series gauge in stock, it would take me about a week to get the other back in stock.

Let me know
I requested a refund. What sucks is that I am broke and need the refund before I can order it from Prosport directly.

I am in need of some assistance (500pages later....ha-ha) ….looking to make an exhaust upgrade but am torn by my ignorance. I’m originally from Houston (hence the name) where emissions are a bitch but this is not the case in SA….so bare with me as my thought process follows.

I am thinking of going with RB or BHR Resonated midpipe (no cat) and Borla exhaust; I say resonating midpipe because I do not want to be “too loud” (I have grey hair showing up in my beard). I had thrown around the idea of BHR’s midpipe with dave sport cat or the RP supercat, but being you don’t get any HP gains unless you remove the cat I thought why not bite the bullet… nix the cat and get more than just sound. I am pretty sure my OEM cat is on its last leg because of misfires, seafoam and other misc issues over the years (04 w/120k miles, although I did get an engine swap at 60ish).

I am also thinking of Tein Basic suspension….thought on that as well?

It’s really all about the driving pleasure….I LOVE my car and would just like to “buy it earrings….and maybe a tennis bracelet……hell and some flowers”

Thoughts?

Exhaust sounds great but the tein basics are a bad choice IMO. Don't go low and don't ride so good I've heard. Coilovers are definitely one of those things that you get what you pay for. Bhr is coming out with a header/midpipe i think. It will be a header that collects much farther back than stock I believe. No idea when it will be released though.

Where did the email come from? Just did a quick check and fluid website isn't up anymore. They could still be receiving email, but it still seems odd that they'd be using that address.

I'm assuming this is through race roots.. and if it is, there's even more amusement. It would appear the gauge is in stock! At least according to their website.

Yeah the email was from Brice, the email address was rx8sales@fluidmotorsports.com. What was weird though is that my paypal payment was to some ladies name. Funny stuff going on there either way.

Sounds good on the exhaust, Agree with J8635621 on the Teins. Pick up a nice set of springs and dampeners first. I like the idea of using the bilstein HD dampeners as they are later rebuild-able with sleeved springs to race spec.

sounds good on the resonaded midpipe vs hi flow cat? I think I just about to pull the plug but I dont want to end up waking the neighbors when I leave in the morning.

I am replacing coils today along w/ fluid swaps all around and window belt molding to keep all the rain we get in SA out of my door...ha-ha.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Resonated mid isn't too bad at low rpms. It is louder but not obnoxious.

I PM'd Scott and he mentioned there might not be a meet till it cooled off. I would love to meet up, I've been here for 7yrs and for some reason never looked into it (I did in Houston and helped orchestrate several scenic drives (although I spent most of my time waiting on ppl to catch up

I like your idea of blistein HD's....for springs it looks like Tanabe GF's maybe be the way to go.

Prosport premium oil temp gauge. My current one keeps messing up and it need a new sending unit so I ditched it. I traded my factory dash top for one with the lotek pod so i will have those three spaces plus the dual pod. I didn't want to have a bunch of gauges but this is the most cost effective route.

Yeah the guy had a tree fall on his turbocharged RX8 so he is going back to stock before the the insurance comes to pick it up.

I plan on having oil pressure and fuel pressure in the dual pod and EGT, oil temp, and AFR in the center pod.

Brakes squeal?

See this post/thread #8

I did the recommended Brake burn in procedure ... Squeal gone. I think I scared the crap out of the other driver in the lane next to me on 1604 access road
