details on the car? how many miles what year... has it had an engine replacement yet?

From what you just described it could easily just need new plugs wires and coils.

There are Much cheaper places to buy sparkplugs, coils and wires then the dealership FYI check in with Sparkplugs.com or one of the vendors for the parts. Some believe all of these should be changed out every 30k miles or so.

How many miles do you have on the clock? You should still call the dealer with you VIN so you can check to see what major services have been done if you do not know.

Also foam on the dip stick can be caused by your engine not being fully warmed up. I use to get it bad when I only had a seven min commute back and fourth to work.

I was gona call mazda for the comp. test never for part lol

and its 05 had it for about 7 months. has 63k mil.

prev. owner said she took it back for a recall and got a whole new motor and papers to prove.

If it has a new engine then most likely the compression is good. It is possible that Mazda did not change out the plugs, coils and wires with the engine. At that kind of mileage if they have never been changed out chances are you would be having your current symptoms.

Before you spend the money on a compression check I would switch those out. It will have to be done no matter even if mazda dose another engine for you. Its a fairly easy job for the average person with simple hand tools.

Oh and just to add i had the car recently diagnosed and they told me i had a craked head casket or the head itself was cracked. they came to that conclusion because of the milky oil and almost a qrt of oil low?

is this false from what i read both of those are normal?

roflroflroflrofl There is no head on the engine. The rotary burns oil by design and we already explained the milky oil. If there was actually coolant in your oil, it would be a BAD thing

Nice looking 8! Don't trust a regular mechanic, needs to go to Mazda or a rotary mechanic. Also check the oil at every fill up!

The fact that even a normal mechanic doesn't know that the engine is a rotary and that it does not have a head gasket is scary. No proper training I guess. I was speaking with the husband of one of my employees the other day and I was astounded by his knowledge of the rotary, specifically the Renesis. He is an ASE certified master mechanic and he said they covered the rotary extensively in his last classes. But he said in 20+ years he has only worked on one or two.

Yea pretty much when i got home i knew the "mechanic" ddnt knw what he was talking about lol. and i had took it to firestone just for a check up and and the guy called me out and starting talking about i shouldnt drive it no more becuase of the cracked head and so lol

and yes sir already priced most of the parts i need,and the guy at the counter said the rotarys have no spark plug wires?? i knw for a fact im not taking a rotary to any shop besides mazda or maybe alamo rotarys.

You can do most of the work yourself no problem. Pretty much everything has a documented step by step do it yourself thread on here.

Thanks and she absolutely loves the car and does not want to ever let it go. so instead of telling her about the "cracked head" i started reading lol

just changed the oil yesterday with 5 20 non synthetic oil and oil filter.

i've read about 4 pages of changing plugs and coils in the past hour doesnt seem so hard. taking off the driver wheel for the plugs and taking off the air box for the coils.

you can get the coils and plugs from AZ or Oreilly's the wires you might have to go to the dealer... speaking of coils I still need to reinstall my BHR ing kit been too busy moving...

I prefer 10-30 but the minute you start talking about what weight oil is best, 30 threads will magically appear with thousands of pages of data and facts.

You just throw in whatever weight your heart desires!

Also if you look around on the buy/sell threads you can find some sweet deals on parts, heck I've purchased 80% of my parts on there haha.

coil/plus change is easy as pie! If you can change the oil you can do the plugs and coils.

^ nailed it.
I helped a fellow member earlier this week do a coil/plug change and it took about an hour. You will only need basic tools. phillips and flat head screw driver, 10mm socket 12mm socket, 21mm socket extensions (wobble bit helps) and a tq wrench to be safe.
