i was rubbing hardcore and the fenders in the rear were eating up the tires, and maybe just a bit in the back prob nothing really noticable, and maybe raise the front a bit when i get bigger tires up in the front. Im pretty low right now. But if anyone on here needs them done I highly suggest him, no paint crack no paint chips, perfectly smooth. And only 45 for two and 78 if you want all four!!

Any of you guys rebuilt a rear caliper? Last night my dust seal came off of my rear driver-side caliper when I was doing the brakes.
I mostly just want advice on how much of a PITA it is to get the seals back on, and whether y'all have discovered any 'tools' that help the job go smoother.

Any1 have a soldering gun available with some solder? Swapped out headunit and now I have nothing but heat...and with it being 90 today I really felt it. ACUs don't help either :p

I have not but I have two front calipers I need to do this on. PM grungepup, he has experience with these, he used to manage a Brake shop.
+1. Hoss-05's HVAC display has been acting up and needs a tap every now and then I think he needs to re solder it as well.

so 2 days in a row car has died under cruising but started right back up...only change is A/C
curious what would cause this any thoughts...like a simultaneous misfire?
its really a minor thing considering upcoming rebuild but worth investigating as part of the plan
DAMN ITS HOT OUTSIDE! Good thing I got promoted monday...time to put A/C in my garage...woohooo

The extra load on the engine will definitely not help. I would love to see the compression test results of this motor.

get some brake line "pinchers" and seal off the feed to the caliper, removed the brake lines and allow the excess fluid to flow out of the caliper.
the easiest way to get the piston out is to put the caliper in a vise and use needle nose pliers to spin out the piston. i would suggest honing out the inside of the caliper as rust and grime has prolly built up inside, not to mention if you have cooked your rears brakes at all, the back of the piston will have baked on brake fluid
spin the piston back on before you put on the dust cover, its easier this way... i use picks to put the dust covers back in the slot and get it lined out
if you havent already found the rebuild kits, car quest i think is the only place around that stocks them

Got the ride back today, new ecu, then the damn button on the middle consule popped off...what's next

Howdy! I am a new 2011 MT Sport owner from Austin TX - bought mine about 2 weeks back. I posted my intro in the top-level general discussion and someone cue me in to the existence of this SARX lounge (what does it stand for anyway - San Antonio RX?) Also got an advice to use 10w30 in our climate - is that what majority of people in our region use? Think i got the very last MT 2011 with 315 miles on the clock. I've been a Miata owner/fan and have finally found a more "practical" Miata in RX8. I'll appreciate feedback from locals on oil type and about using premix - keep in mind mine's practically new so when to start using premix etc. As i work from home mostly thus i won't be putting too many miles on it - maybe 500 miles/month.

Those are questions without a super clearcut answer. I'd suggest 10w-30 and idemitsu premix ASAP. I'm not super sure on the amount to premix though. S2 cars shouldnt need it as much hypothetically since they have more oil injectors I believe. Congrats on the purchase. And don't call it a Miata.
