I try to stay away from tuning and the ecu, I troubleshoot IT stuff all week.
My build wont be ready to strap on to the car for another 6 or 7 months. I still haven't priced out IC piping yet I'm assuming it will be in the $650 range.
That said I have gauges and a bunch of other random **** collecting dust in the garage.

Can any of you tubo experts (9k, Hoss, Shady) have a look at this and tell me what you think...

What should I ask for?
Do you think it might be worth the risk?

Well, it likely needs a new motor for sure. A solid rebuild will run you $4,000.00 at least. Plus, the adaptonic may be a problem in terms of tuning because it's not a popular platform. If you could get the whole car for $10,000.00 it might be worth it but i would have see many more pics of it to really judge how everything is installed.

I am thinking of offering the guy 9k and see if I can get in contact with Turblown and get more info on it. I will also see if he can get me some more engine bay pics so we can tak a look at the build. I have done a little research and most have good things to say about Turblown and the car is on thier FB page.
I am still learning and I appreciate all the help guys. I am thinking this would be better than starting from scratch???

As far as I am concerned the jury is still out on Turblown. My experience with them was lackluster and I have yet to see an RX-8 built by Turblown withstand the test of time. But the low mount kit seems promising and it looks like the fab work is solid. But I wouldn't mess with a top mount kit, I have personally never seen an RX-8 with a top mount that has performed well.

Car probably need engine rebuild and that about it. Turblown built the custom turbo for me. The intercooler is placed "flat" under the radiator so ambiance air easily gets to engine. It comes with adaptronic ecu which probably the best ecu for Rx8 right now. Turbo kit itself has less than 50 miles on it. Garrette intercooler, tial mvs 38 mm wastegate, tial Q bov. All the best components you could put on the car. Elliot of turblown can provide you with more info. Engine was rebuilt by Christ from Esmeril industry. He is a friend of mine live near my house. Engine has Esmeril apex seals. I do not have compresion number but car starts first time every time still except it's vacuum reading fell from -17 or so to -10 once engine warm up. This rebuild engine has around 22k miles on it. All it needs is a new engine and I am sure this kit will put out over 400whp easy, especially with this big precision 6265 turbo.
Turbo on car is precision 6265 and with this set up it got to 9 psi around 3300 rpm or so according to Elliot. Very quick indeed especially for this large turbo. Please visit turblown
Facebook website he got photo of the built there.
I got all of the stock parts also and will give them to whoever purchase the car. Car is drive able but it just doesn't make power due to low compression of the engine.
Car is garage kept and is in pristine condition. Never even drove in rain or snow. You can't mod this car anymore beside give it a new engine. I spend over 20k on it and everything still in great condition. Call me at ******** and I can tell you some more about other things you want to know. My wife is expecting and it is time for me to have some saving for other stuffs.

its a new run so we wont be hitting the curves that hard, we will basically take 10 up to comfort and then back road it from there to fredricksburg, and then spend the rest of the time on different back roads around the burg.... we will have lunch there and then head home......
as far as meeting, i would say meet up at 9, roll out by 930
there is one stretch of road that is newly paved and has some loose gravel on it, the shitty part about it is that it is at the begining of a good curve..... so when you see the hazard lights go on.... slow down and widen up your following distance
this is just a fun run to get some idea for the bigger event we have brewing for the fall
