Thanks to hanging out at 9k's on Sunday, I got the "mod bug" on the drive home. Snagged some new stainless hardware, painters tape, and a yard stick at Lowe's and went to town. Three hours later I got my 1750mm Origin 3D GT Wing installed. The stantions didn't seem so big on the RX-7, *but FD's don't have a trunk*. Lower replacements are in the works. Still, its amazing how much it plants the *** down over 45MPH. I'd say it looks a little rice, but in person you can really see how it matches the body/roof lines. Time to see how many haters vs. fans are in the SARX crew...

Planted no, but that's when you can feel it actually start compressing the rear suspension. Over 60 is when it's too much. Changed the angle of attack to the lowest setting to see the change.

OK so I was just looking at tickets for the race and it looks like 2 tickets will run just over $500 if we go with turn 11....not sure if that is my first choice but we shall see.

anyone serious about this and if so lets discuss so we can all hook up.....it will be Andrea and myself

I like it Piroxide. I don't love it with those wheels though, the CE's are more track oriented so with them refinished in what ever color you pick I think it could work.

I'm a ricer at heart, what can I say

You actually still have first dibs on the guest bed and room at hotel DC. I have 3 other 8 club members coming from out of state as well. luckily I have a big *** place and can fit everyone. so far most everyone is doing grass seating for $159.

Wait, so over 60 MPH and it doesn't feel right? hmmm, I am a firm believer that this car shouldn't "plant" in the rear... that messes with the handling. Not to mention that I think I saw something similar to that on a Honda civic the other day, and I laughed at it. If you are planting in the rear then you aren't cornering right. I see that as messing with the handling characteristics and changing the point of the car. This car should handle like a beast right off the lot, the best thing to do for an even tighter ride is to lower and change shocks... not plant a piece of furniture on the back of the car. It does look like a nice chill spot to sit and have a beer while your watching all the other cars that can actually take a turn pass you... considering over 60 it more than likely give the car drag that I can't even fathom. Hey if you were going for that whole High School Civic thing, then the car looks rad. if not... I think it's pretty fugly.

But I'm a girl... and a purist... so what do I know.

Oh! I do know that I think it looks like crap.

So glad I took my window sticker off!

ok ok... I'm not done...

You're missing something...

I think you should change the camber so that the tires only ride on the inside, and you forgot your roll call of stickers on the door... way to go there fast and furious!

Too much angle on the wing will increase your drag. Now you need to do something with the front to equal out the downforce. A splitter would help.

I'm indifferent on wings for street cars. They do attract the attention of the police though.

Looks are subjective, that is for sure. I don't love the look of the wing (yet) but legit functional parts are far from rice. Cheap parts that serve no purpose are rice.

I saw this wing on one of his FD's that was finished to fit it and I must say it looked menacing. As for function, well Top Gear, Team RX-8, and many many other track rats run similar wings. But I do agree that on the street it will have very little function. Much like any wing on the RX-8.

Wow Piroxide sorry for the bashing coming your way... Looks are subjective and I know with your tastes that this is a genuine article not some ebay knockoff... Hey its your car and you can do what you want with it... I am withholding any judgement till I see it in person and you finish the look that you are after...

He knew it was incoming and expected it. But once his Volks are refinished and his car is re-corner balanced (is that a word ) since it was fixed by us then I think it will look and perform well on the trizack. I am interested in seeing the new stanchions after they are made.

Amazon realized the mistake and cancelled my $4.00 Jegs battery relocation kit I did get the Taylor battery tray though for $23.00. Now I just need to source some 2AWG wire and some connectors.
