Ah okay. Well in the future hit me up, we could probably build another RX-8 completely with the stuff we have in the garage.

well thanks! I guess it just looks harder than it really is, for such a small engine we sure have a lot of crap going on everywhere I priced a new one at the dealer today and it was 341.00....ough. I'm hoping the one I ordered shows up soon but if not I have an idea of how I can fix it temporarily just in case, I'm trying to get it all ready for Wekfest otherwise it would have never happened.

So from digging around on here I found out that the line that broke is connected to the "air control valve", while the car did start and I got it back in the garage, if I drive around without that getting proper vacuum can someone explain what happens or what it's for? I haven't started searching that yet, thought maybe someone here already knows etc.

It's for your air pump. You could just cap it at the solenoid and remove your air pump. I don't run an air pump, you will just need the Racing Beat air pump block off plate.

if you can't cap it at the solenoid, you can disconnect the solenoid. It should be the blue plug on the back of the UIM, that way it wont create a vacuum leak. Also you can make your own block off plate.

If you are running a stock cat removing the air pump will burn the cat up.

I still do, one of those things I just never got around to switching out, I'm almost at 90k so I should probably look into doing that at some point.

geez, seems like it would have just been easier to eliminate it if not for the cat, oh well, something to do in the future I suppose, the less complicated I can make the engine bay the happier I am.

Yeah removing the air pump and associated brackets makes doing a few things a lot easier.

Someone local should pick this up for 3k or less and sit on it and replace all the little bits for a future build.
