I'm hoping to go to that, I heard at our car club meeting they're bringing the 4 rotors down here, but I don't know if it's the same date, someone mentioned something about the 15th which is a Thursday.

This is something happening outside of the Corksport gig, Beasley is part owner, or more specifically, Mazda is part owner of Harris Hill now, it's like their Texas Laguna Seca for the most part so there's talk they're bringing the 4 rotors out to promote the track etc. I think that's just rumors but I'll see what I can do to confirm it.

So, I know I haven't been active in the whole SARX club thing, but I just traded in my RX8 for something that fits a bit better with my life currently. I have 3 qts and 20 ozs of Idemitsu premix if someone is interest. Shoot me a PM, and first to pickup gets it. (Note: I live somewhat near SeaWorld, in the Creekside subdivision).

I now fully understand why wekfest is pronounced WEAKfest, it was great mieeting Dennis (Sifu) and seeing 9k and watching a crapton of people geek on my car, the not so great -
best of show went to a car parked in the Weksos booth, (they had 3 best of show awards?) with no hood? lots of carbon fiber covering a majority of the engine bay, (which tells me from my show experience that it probably wasn't cleaned underneath it) typical vip interior. Car had baller wheels and sat on the ground on air and had some engine mods but meh, there was nothing really innovative or outstanding about it compared to some of the other rides out there (including mine), and besides, it was in their booth! wtf is that?
My car took 2nd to a 1jz (or 2jz?) swapped Rx7, I saw this car at HIN 4 years ago and aside from the swap it was mostly stock, not only mostly stock but front bumper was coming off on one corner, engine bay was filthy, hatch was closed the whole show, doors were shut despite having tons of room (compared to my car which was squeezed inbetween 2 others which I tried to circumvent by pushing it forward a bit), in short, the car was visibly flawed and nowhere near as clean or as openly displayed as mine, I get that the swap is unique , but seriously, how is all the work I've done not more unique and then add to that how much cleaner mine was anyway?
Either way, maybe this all wouldn't matter so much if I had been judged in the first place, but I wasn't, there were a LOT of cars in our area that weren't. I know this because I have a pretty complicated build, whenever I compete I stick around and wait for a judge because there's lots of details in my car people won't catch without me pointing them out, my friend Rene and I waited around the car all day long (we took it in shifts lol) so we could explain it to people passing by, do some networking, and ultimately because if a judge were to show up either one of us could take a couple extra seconds and point some things out, instead we never saw anyone with the exception of one staff member who grabbed my registration out of my front window, walked down the closed up side of my car for about 5 seconds, then threw it back on the dash looking pissed off and walking off shaking his head and muttering to himself. I don't really care about not getting 1st or even placing for that matter. I built the car out of my love for cars and as an opportunity to achieve a dream of being in Sema, but what really brought me down about yesterday was not being judged fairly, really makes it hard to enjoy a show when stuff like this happens. I've thought about bringing it up to the weksos staff, but I really don't think that woud be worth the time or gain me anything.
just had to vent, I know life isn't fair and all that crap, but at least car shows should be

Yeah I have to say the Hellaflush show in 2010 was much better even though it was hot as ****. The cars were of a much higher quality.
The FD Canary speaks of was nothing to write home about on the inside and I think the wheels were fake as well.

Overall I was unimpressed, especially after spending $40.00 to get in for me and the GF. I also don't get the random lowrider Suburban and cars that are just not car show material IMO.
Example: S2000 with XXR's, damaged fenders, and it looked like the front bumper was painted with a rattle can.
