Re: Random Details about the 8

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Kane, you remember that message you sent me awhile back about the 8's random details...

So the seats ARE made by Recaro correct? (Not just the R3), Brakes are made by Brembo, Shocks are Tokico( I know the shocks ARE made by tokico), Etc. Because I repeated what you told me and apparently im wrong... which I just repeated all you told me. So is all of that correct? because im getting challenged/questioned in the SARX Lounge in the Gulf Forum... Thanks man

Brandon

Kane: No, you are right. Ask CRH if you don't believe me.

Told you... just because it doesnt have a label doesnt mean its not made by them...

S1 Oil Pressure

Holly Cow! I just spent WAY to much free time attempting to come to some definitive conclusion about Oil, Pressure, and the Mazmart mod (read the Renesis OIL PRESSURE Discussion) and I'm still not sure there was a definitive answer. Looking for some CliffsNotes.

I know 9K has completed the Mazmart oil pressure mod. Anyone else in our area? I'm with the idea of changing to the S2 oil filter for the higher bypass too. However, did the thread ever get to a reasonable verdict? The best I could tell is the jury is still out, the group was considering the data, requesting more results, and submitting conjecture.

Did I miss the point?

Seriously, that's your proof? You are funny bro.

Kane and Charles are two great guys (two of my favs on this site actually) and very knowledgeable but if you research, you will find a thread where the seats were completely disassembled and there were no marks whatsoever indicating Recaro. Furthermore, if you go to Recaro's site it indicates that any seats made by them have identifying marks.

From what I found, Brembo's OE rotor factory is in China and there is a huge problem with fakes so it is really hard to tell if the OEM's are Brembo or not but I doubt the OEM brakes are Brembo because I think it would be used in the marketing of the 8 but I have no definitive proof.

But either way it's doesn't matter, this is a stupid topic and there is no proof of anything. You stated it as a fact and it is not proven fact. Now back to our regular scheduled programming.

hey yall wuts up? havent been on much, been busy with missions on my deployment. Looks like i will NOT be able to make it to the event. i wanted to go bad but the powers of a deployment has me coming back a couple weeks after the event. I did have a question though. So i was looking around and found the greddy sp2 catback that i want. i found it on RACINGWORKS.COM They have it on sale for 550.00 but it says for the 04-06. I have a 07 and im wondering if there is really a difference? i thought there werent any but any advice on if it will fit or not would be appreciated before i buy this. Thanks guys! catch up with yall when i get back! "DEVIL DOC"

Here's a list of crap that will be available if my car is totaled... Obviously some things will require the stock parts or some form of replacement in order for the car to run. Not listing prices here.. just putting it up for people to claim if they are interested.

-RB intake (cornholio)
-RB sways (hoss)
-RP supercat
-RP resonated midpipe
-HKS hi-flow (single) catback
-AFE shortshifter (Grungepup)
-Volk GT-F w/ volk lugs
-RR footwell lights
-Zex wet nitrous kit
-Cobb accessport (9k)

That's as much as I can think of for now. I put jay down for the shifter and I think mike was interested in the intake but I'm not too sure on that one now, so I'll leave it unclaimed for now. Obviously, since the car might not be totaled, nothing is actually for sale or available in any form as of yet. This stuff is only going to be available if the car is called a total. If I'm repairing it and keeping the car, I'm going to be keeping almost all of this stuff till it comes time to sell the car.
