9K, thanks for pics on the springs. I went with your advice and ordered the S's from Race Root. Should be here this week I hope. Your and grungepup's rides are pretty sweet. How did you do your debadge on the front? I've got an 04 SS, don't have pics on the laptop though. Again appreciate your help.

No problemo, I bought the bumper debadged from another member. A bodyshop will have to fill the holes. Let me know when you get the springs.

Nah, too much rotating mass, 19" tires are heavy and expensive. 18"x9 +30 = sex.

The forgestar rim according to the post at 19x10 should weigh 19.2 lbs. The stock rim is 21.5 lbs. Yes I know the tire is typically more heavy in 19 inch size even at the same width. The only thing that would keep me from getting a 19 over a 18 inch rim would be actual tire cost.

Check it Bridgestone potenza RE050 at size:
255 45 r18:
233$
29 lbs

255 40 r19:
314$
30 lbs

Stock RE040
$$$
reported between 26-28 lbs.

So my Dream 19 rim and tire =49.2 lbs at reported weights.

The same in 18 = 47.4 lbs.

Stock rim and tire = 47.5- 49.5 lbs at reported weights.

I pulled my stock weights info from:
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...+wheel+weights

Tire weight info came directly off of:
tirerack.com

and finally forgestar wheel weight came from:
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=187987

Why the wrong size tire? The profile is taller than stock. You also have to consider that they could weigh exactly the same but that most of the weight is concentrated further from the hub aka making it harder for the car to turn the wheel/tire. Also, the sidewall of the tire will be shorter and could translate into a rougher ride. All that could be negliable difference though.

Good weight~! I just used it as a referance as it poped up when I was looking on tire rack. Any way not nearly as big of a differance as I had thought it would be from the stock rim.

When it comes down to it as much as I would love to have 19s I will most likely go with 18s for practical reasons but mostly cost.

Yeah I was actually surprised at the weight, I should weigh one now to figure out how much weight is shed by tire wear, that was when the tires were new

Hey, 17's for the track and 19's for the street

Ha if I get a track set up it will be track tires on stock rims.

Grunge........ would those even fit with the sport brakes?

How baller would it be to paint the stock 16s lime green and rock them out~!

So I was just looking at a web site that has nothing to do with RX8club or me and it is selling a set of four RPF1s 18x10 +38 none painted for just over 1400.

IDK when you sit down and look at things the forgestars are sill very expensive but I dont think the price is that bad bad for a rim made how you want it. I am also willing to bet the weight differance is not that big between the RPF1 and F14s of the same size. Also not many people have them.
