I had a shop do a compression test and they said it was low. Who knows if they actually took the time to take a look at it and do a proper compression test...I am just under the assumption it doesnt have compression, for the fact that the car wont start period, it just sounds weak and then it just drains the battery.

Ive seen people spend thousands of dollars replacing everything but the engine.

Removing the engine is a really easy thing once you've done it enough times.

Yeah it cranked okay but no start. Although it could be flooded, I have seen a few shops compression test and say it's a bad engine when in fact it was just flooded. It depends if they have experience compression testing a rotary and what type of tester they used. A few people have bought RX-8's on the cheap that supposedly had bad engines that were just flooded.

But since your engine saw a lot of boosted time I would low compression is a good bet.

I've done the de-flooding procedures in the past with success. It would be awesome if the car was just flooded. But now the engine would have to be severely flooded if that were the case. It is worth a shot I suppose. You guys have any tricks up your sleeve besides pulling the plugs?

just good old fashioned FSM deflood procedure. A good battery and booster (we have) and some time are all it takes.

OK

I had RPM rollbacks ... and seemed like less power ....

Replaced Oil Nozzle meter ... Air solenoid with intake manifold gaskets...

Seems good so far ....

So maybe my engine will be good to go for some time....

Been a while huh, I've been burying myself with work for this company but I'm tired of that stuff. I have a couple of clutch pedals that could use a couple spot welds, some taillights, and a new plastic piece that goes on the bottom of the front bumper. Plus of anyone needs anything else I can get it at cost to help out.

Oooh I still have the strut bar, two plastic shrouds that go on top of the frame and bumper inside the engine bay, and what looks like a passenger side fog light cover

Cool man, I know a couple of people who could use the tail lights (hint, hint) and possibly the radiator.
