My 1 bedroom (loft) with 800 sq ft is only $525/mo. The floor space isn't optimized though, so it's not quite 800 useable space. They have a 2 bedroom with the same space (much better layout) for like $40/mo more which I'm considering, and it's still not a bad deal at that price... can't imagine paying upwards of $2000/mo on an apartment unless it's really nice.
On an unrelated note... the second buyer with an approved loan who was ready to buy my car, backed out. So hopefully this 3rd guy will work out. He's looking at a weekend car because the 8 wont suit family needs, so he may go for other options. He's checking out a mazdaspeed miata tomorrow (saturday) and said he'll let me know what he decides on. Not sure what the pricing is on the miata, but hopefully he'll prefer my car lol.
Edit: just found the MS miata he's looking at tomorrow... Definitely a clean car. A little higher mileage but very well kept. The one thing that I think will definitely play a factor is the interior. The interior on the 8 is so much more well designed. The miata's interior is a bit on the bland side in my opinion. It sounded like the guy is somewhat interested in interior amenities so I'd imagine he might lean towards the 8 for that reason. The one thing I can't tell for sure is the overall feel, as I have not driven a MS miata. Guess I'll find out soon what he thinks.

Miata
Prior to my 8, I was looking at a large variety of "enjoyable" cars for my commute. (I figured if I was going to be in the car as much as I am, then I ought to enjoy it!) Similar to 9k, I'm not a big guy either and I felt claustrophobic in the Miata. Absolutely no leg/knee room at all. Additionally, the interior was MUCH nicer (IMHO) in the 8 than the Miata. Great little cars, but the key word there is "little". The only upside I saw in the Miata was gas milage.

Rear Bumper Thoughts...
Friday afternoon a Leslie's Pools truck decided to "bump" the rear of my 8. Nothing real bad (mainly scuffed/scratched), but I'm definitely going to need it repaired. Since I'm going to get the bumper repainted anyway, what are some of your thoughts on this kit... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-R...item563a6af38e
The RX8 rear bumper has to be one of the least aesthetically pleasing body components, but I'm not sure I'm ready to change things up. Most kits require fitting, and I don't know of a single body shop in the area I trust. Usually Jack's Paint Place (Converse) does ALL of my paint work (HIGHLY recommended), but they won't touch a body kit.

I had my old WB fixed there when and old guy backed into it their work is top notch. They won't do body kits? I am getting ready to take my wife's LY over there for a quote to install a front lip and repair/repaint the front bumper. Wonder if they will mount and paint the lip?

They won't mount, but they will paint. When I spoke with them they said I'd have to get the kit on the car and work out the fit... or they would be happy to paint the part off the car to allow me to fit at a later time.

No, she's basic with a Nav. The body work scares me since I've seen some bad efforts out there. The only way I'd even consider it is if someon in the group had some good experiences locally (San Antonio or Austin).

Can't get a solid buyer for this thing... not sure why. I've had 4 people now who left giving me the feeling they were seriously going to buy and then for one reason or another they keep backing out.
Also, what is with people wanting me to be their bank? People keep asking if I'll do payments on the car... while I'm sure there might be a few legit/honest/reliable people wanting to do that it just seems stupid to trust someone you don't know with a situation like that. If they can't get their bank to loan them (which allows them to pay in payments), I'm assuming it's a credit issue. If a huge bank with lots of financial backing views you to be a risk, why should I hand my car over to you before I have all my money? Maybe I'm missing some other reason someone would want to do payments.
