Macs are far from perfect. I have a customer who brought me a new Macbook Pro on Friday with the white screen of death. It has to be sent back to Apple. She use it for her business and now she will be without it for a couple of weeks.

Yes, I know all too well. When an apple breaks you are out big bucks and you can't get the parts locally to fix them. For what it will cost to fix this Mac Book pro she could buy a pretty nice new laptop with Windows 7.

Yeah there are a ton of things I love about Mac's. I just hate it when people that don't know **** about computers try and tell me that Mac's are "better". Each have their strong suits and I actually prefer Ubuntu over both of them for basic web surfing, word pross, etc.

I don't know that they're better, but my mac laptop has been the best computer over time for me.
I dont see why it should be taking so long for her to get it back though... They can do repairs in house at any apple store. Apples are overpriced for the physical product that you get, but in my experience the customer service is well above par. I had a hard drive go out on me when I was half a year out of my warranty and they still replaced it for free. They also did a repair for free on my girlfriends laptop recently. As far as I can tell, they dont charge diagnostic fees which a lot of other company that will do repairs locally will charge, which is nice.
Of course that's just a couple experiences and mostly opinion, but I can't imagine it's too far from the norm.
Now, all that said, I dont know if I'd ever completely move away from PC since most games are released for windows and it costs and arm and a leg to get a top of the line apple that would excel at gaming anyways. Though the new imacs look amazing and I'd love to have one
