I just went on a joy ride in 8 maniac's car and it pulls like a freight train. Makes me miss torque. It would absolutely embarrass my 8 even on the bottle.

Someone commented on my YouTube video that it definitely needs remapping... I was under the impression that I wouldn't be getting much more from the final tune but now I'm definitely interested.

I would have to see some data before I could say a remapping is in order. A quick look at the AFR's would tell you a lot.

yeah... the tune is just the basic tune they start with on this type of set up, so nothing is tuned specifically for my car. VAST pretty much said that I should get it tuned once I finished the break in, so it does seem like they can get a little more aggressive with the tune.

Do you have any lines on a tuning outfit here or are you going to get software and let me tune it

I basically have free tuning from vast, I just need to meet up with someone who they work with on logging and such near me. I don't think they have anyone in SA since he gave me info for a shop in Houston, but I sent an email on friday night asking if there was anyone in the Austin area (Since he knew I'm in SA, I'm assuming they didn't have anyone here they directly work with). If the closest is in Houston, then I'm hoping I can knock tuning out of the way on Friday or Saturday before the dyno day starts. We'll see I guess. I'm really not sure how much to expect from tuning though. It didn't sound like it would be a huge difference, but that response on youtube makes me wonder if it's more than I thought.

Your car will warrant an entire mod day when you get back.

Too bad Hinson is a bunch of crooks. That car will likely never be finished and likely was stolen to begin with Nice idea although I would never put a piston engine in an RX I don't think.

Must be scary as hell to crash at that speed I have watched a few vids of those runs and it is not uncommon for guys to spin out when slowing down.

Not everyone wants to be aggressive And with spacers it could be a legit setup.

Those are nearly stock in the front and the rears are so-so. There is no reason to buy Volks + spacers when there are plenty of decent sized Volks out there. If that is a really good deal, then maybe it's worth it. I don't keep up with Volk values as I never plan to have a set. I want something with a 3 letter acronym.
