DPE? HRE? I love some designs from both of those brands.

Oh yeah... Just remembered this.

One of the people interested in my 8 (back when I was selling) was a guy buying it for his son. They were both there and seemed pretty cool. Said they were looking at mine and another one with fairly similar mods. The other one was a VR with black rims/red lip. Saw a car that matched the description the other day at the theater and I have to say (no offense if you're on here...) that I'm glad my car didn't go to him (Ok, I don't see how that doesn't seem offensive lol). I had to cringe when I saw him jump in, start her up and drive off rather aggressively. Let it warm up! Just go easy until regular operating temps!

Not 100% sure it's the same guy as I don't really remember exactly what he looked like, but he's definitely about the same age and the car is almost exactly as he described.

Oh and I agree about the specs on the Volks, that guy would have to make a good deal for it to be worth it. CCW and HRE are my two favs as well.

Opinions: http://podi.ca/P1Packages.aspx?CarID=8

"VEI Systems package (Red)"

or

"Electronic Stepper Motor Boost Gauge Package (white needle, black bezel)"

I like both pretty equally but not sure if the traditional gauge or digital display will look better. Digital is probably easier to read, but only by a little bit.

Definitely digital, much easier to read at a glance.

That's what I was leaning towards, but some reason the mechanical gauge interested me as well.

The cool thing about the digital gauge is that the bars go different directions depending on if it's in boost or vacuum. I'll probably have that on order in the next day or so... just waiting for a reply to a question (if it includes the T-fitting for tapping or if I need to order that as well).

Do you already have the aggressive coilovers and aggressive fender pull ready for the aggressive rims?

That would almost fit in the rear but the front would be stupid. Maybe 25mm rear and 20mm front with your skinny tires. Guatamalaflush

Many thanks again to 9k for saving my ***!

Went out to start the car to go to class and it was a no go. It was cranking a bit but was weak and would slowly loose steam so I figured it was the battery. Hooked the jumper cables up and it started right up. Went to autozone and confirmed that the battery was dead.

I know it looks nice and stuff... but the covers were a pain in the *** for removing the battery. Took more effort getting those out of the way than actually disconnecting the battery and taking it out. Turns out it's from 2004 so it was probably time for a new battery anyways lol. I'll be heading back to turn in the old and pick up the new in a few minutes.

Ya the coilovers I have will do....for now. I'm looking at three sets of rims right now. One set is 18x9.5/10 +12 f/r. The other two are 18x10 +18 all around.

No problemo bro, anytime. That battery was old, I have never had a battery last that long.

I would go the same all the way around. I wish my fronts were the same as the rears.

I actually like the staggered look depending on how it is done but that makes tire rotations a bitch, especially when you are running negative camber, etc.

Battery replaced and everything seems good now. Started up fine, though that was immediately after install. Guess I'll see over the next day or 2 how it holds up. Basically just making sure there's not some unnecessary drain at this point.

Check this thread out if you've had the clutch pedal problem: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/clutch-bracket-being-paid-mazda-206869/

Not sure how much others have spent on repairs, but might be worth sending in for refunds.
