Problem in San Antonio

Decided to bring this post over here to see if anybody in the Gulf area has any ideas.

Hello everyone, I am having a small crisis with my 8 and need a little help.

The car:
2004 Rx8 with 42500 miles, still running factory plugs because dealer tech said they didn't need to be replaced until 60000, in his words, "They're platinum tipped"
Car has been into the shop at least ten times in the past year for all kinds of various evap leaks, etc.
Has been reflashed with MSP16

Mods:
K&N V.2
Revi Ram Air Duct

Problem:
I was driving home doing 55 mph on cruise with the engine completely warmed when I dropped the car into third for her daily redline. I got to 90 mph and put her in neutral while rolling down the hill before my turnaround. Seconds after coasting my oil pressure gauge fell all the way to the left and the CEL, Battery light, Engine Oil light, and Engine Coolant light all illuminated. At the same time, the rpms dropped to zero and the engine cut off yet the power steering and lights still functioned normally.
I coasted into the nearby gas station and removed the key from the ignition and waited five minutes. I started the car and everything functioned normally on the drive to my home.
Regardless of what the problem is I'm taking her in to the dealership because she's still under warranty but any ideas to what the problem is are greatly appreciated.

Sorry the post is so long.

BTW, I am searching too.

Thanks to all

plugs are supposed to be changed @ 30k.... I changed mine right after I bought it (29k miles) and they were nasty.... dont know if this is 100% of your problem, but its probably contributing to it....

Edit: which dealership are you using? If you say World Car, I'm gonna shake my head at ya.... North Park is a decent one, and they got a cool waiting room, with computers, Xbox360s, and free coffee/soft drinks

I get all my service done at IPAC Mazda. When I take it in on Monday I'm going to get the spark plugs changed along with the ignition coils and start running 5w-30 oil from now on. Hopefully the dealership can figure out what's wrong with her.

if you like your wallet, dont have em change the plugs.. its over 300 bucks... you can get the plugs for ~120 bucks and it takes only like .5-1 hrs to do it... the DIY guide is on the DIY forum... look into it and see if ya feel ya can do that yourself...

+1 on taking it to N. Park Mazda.

I have NEVER been a fan of IPAC. If my experiences with their sales people is any indication of their service dept., they fail.

Yeah service department sucks sometimes. They seem to lack knowledge about the 13b but that's nothing new.

NorthPark Mazda wants over 700 dollars for spark plugs, coil set and some other wires.

Do you folks know if everything needs to be changed when changing out just the 4 spark plugs?

Just got the car back today and the problem is fixed. IPAC Mazda replaced the coils, plugs, motor mounts, and clutch boot at no cost to me. Car runs so much better now.
